Falcon Baseball Team Improves Season Record Ihe Falcons second comeback tell one run short in a Northern State contest with New Prairie. Two Cougar home runs in the top of the first inning gave the visitors a 3 run lead. The Falcons retaliated in the same frame with I odd Davis' 2-run blast Kev Fakon hits by Gene Amor and Ron Clemons led to a 5-3 lead at the end of fixe innings. However, the Cougars exploded for four runs in the top of the bth, three of them coming on led Jarka’s second home run of the game. The Falcons fought back to within one run. leaving two men on base in each of the last two innings. In the second game freshman pitcher Keith Clark held off the Bobcats for a 5-4 victory. UREY DANCE FRIDAY Urey Middle School is sponsoring a dance on Friday. April 29. for all Urev students. Ihe dance will he held in the Urev gymnasium from "MX) p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Parent chaperones are encouraged to attend. BETTER HOMES CLUB MEETS Better Homes Extension Club members met at the home of Mrs. Howard (lingenpecl with Mrs. Nancv Shilling as assisting hostess for the April meeting. It was a pleasant surprise to have one of our long time members back with us. Mrs. Ida Mae Watkins. Her health had kept her home. Following the pledge to the flag and the club creed the song of the month. ‘ When T he Red Red Robin ( omes Bob Bob Bobbin Along” was led by Mrs. Richard Ruby. Roll call was answered by telling about our most hated TV commercial with 11 responding. The birthday song was sung for Mrs. Branson Hiatt. We were asked to remember Mrs. Dale Ullery as she will go into the hospital on Thursday for surgery on her arm. Cultural arts chairman. Mrs. John Wathen, gave a report on activities happening in our local and surrounding areas. Mrs. Vcrl Buchanan had to resign as our representative to the International Dav at the fairgrounds on Wednesday . April 27. Our club is to represent Greece and Mrs. Allan Eddingcr will take over with her mother. Mrs. Thelma Watts, assisting her. Ihe Spring Fling will be held at C rest Manor Church of the Brethren. South Bend, on May 18. Reserations must be in bv Monday. Mav 9. If you plan to go call Mrs. Albert Ray. I he club voted to pay the wav for one vouth to attend the 4 H । Roundup. Mrs. Hiatt gave the health and safetv lesson on nursing homes. Our meeting adjourned with the repealing of the club prayer. Refreshments were served followed bv a white elephant sale. We thank Mrs. Ruhv for being our faithful auctioneer Door prizes were awarded to Mrs. Clyde Sticklev and Mrs. Roy Freeman. I he next meeting of the club will be in the home of Mrs. Freeman with Mrs. Wayne Cover assisting.
