Miss Betty Rice. Miss Michelle Pavey. Miss Fran Bager, of South Bend, and Miss Tammy Stull spent last week in Fort Lauderdale. Florida. They visited with Debbie Wolff, formerly of Walkerton. Mrs. Ida Mae Watkins’ two sons. Jack and Claude Jr., and their families, came on Sunday for a work day for their mother doing all sorts of things that she is unable to do. Dinner was enjoyed and in the evening she attended the Mariners Club at the Presbyterian Church with supper being served amongst friends. Douglas Dickson and his fiance, of Glenview. Illinois, were dinner guests of Mrs. Lucille Dickson, last Thursday. Miss Ethel Bierly hosted the Naomi Circle meeting of the United Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Steele took a trip to Florida last week to visit with old friends. They stayed overnight in Nashville. Tennessee with their granddaughter. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Humes and family. In Ellenton. Florida, they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Albright; in Bradenton they visited with Fred Baudistel and Miss Hope Snyder; and at Sarasota they visited with Mrs. Amy Belle Seitz, and their grandson. Florida, left on Monday for the return trip home after spending several weeks here with his mother. Mrs. Samuel Frame, and other relatives. Paul Clark left on Monday for his home in Rio Linda. California, after spending a couple of weeks here with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Clark. On Sunday evening a birthday party was hosted by the Cleo Clarks for their families to celebrate the birthdays of Michael Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Clark, and Mrs. Steve Clark, of La Porte. Mrs. Helen Cowood and her sister. Celia Grover, will serve as hostesses for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner meeting on Saturday night. Mrs. Viola Bregi has returned to Koontz Lake after a four month visit with her son. Robert, in Bradenton. Florida, and her daughter. Jean, in Phoenix. Arizona. On the way home she and her daughter spent a week in Livonia. Michigan, to attend the wedding of her oldest grandchild. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wagner and family, of Three Rivers. Pavey and family. Miss Ethel Bierly attended the Starke County Retired Teachers Association meeting held last Wed nesdav afternoon in the home of Mrs. Myers. She showed pictures of her trip through Asia which she took last summer. Lyle Rensberger is still in serious condition in the intensive care unit of St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. He appreciated his cards and prayers of the people from Walkerton. Emma Wood, oldest resident of North Liberty, celebrated her 95th birthday on Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor. Mr. and Mrs. Clell Fouts were Saturday dinner guests of Mrs. Olive Lowry, in Plymouth. David Frame remains a patient in serious condition in St. Joseph Medical Center. South Bend. His room number is 663. Miss Laura Jones, of Taylor University, and Mr. Robert Gerber. of Ball State University, spent the weekend with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gerber.. Mr. Terry Bostedt, of South Bend, was a Saturday evening dinner guest and Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Gerhart and sons, of Kingsford Heights, were Sunday dinner guests. Mr. Jon Wolff, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wolff, Walkerton, won second place last weekend in the Cavalcade of Wheels Show at the Notre Dame ACC. His entry was a 1932 Ford Coupe. Jon is 17 years old and is very proud of his trophy. MRS. BEATY RETURNS HOME Mrs. Leonard Beaty returned home on March 9, from California, where she spent four months with her daughter and husband. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roberts, at Canoga Park. Their area escaped the terrible Hcmkls in the southern part and the mud slides in the northern part of the state but the temperatures were cooler than last winter. Scan Leonard Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hill Roberts. I he many ( hristmas cards and letters from friends were greatly appreciated, especially the church bulletins from Goldie Skinner with personal news of folks. Also Todd Wathen's letters and calls home helped to keep us informed. He joined the Roberts family in January and helped keep things interesting. Manx thanks are due my daughter. Jean. Ed and Rich Cole for their close supervision of things here. It was a very pleasant winter there and here too. I guess, and the blooming crocuses were a nice welcome home. The Union Township Club will host the Johnson Township Club on March 15, at 6:30 p.m.. at the Tracy Methodist Church. A pancake supper at Kouts will be held on March 25. The District meeting will be at Crown Point on April 12. A donation was made to the State 4-H organization. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knowlton were honored for getting most new memberships and renewals in the county. Mrs. Terry Dipert, pet and hobby leader, entertained the children. John Cord gave an interesting report from the recently held county board meeting and various other meetings that he has attended. Serving on the supper committee were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eddinger.
