Legion Convention in July. Titus uill serve as head of the 123,000member strong Indiana Legion until next July. A native of Rockport, Titus is the second C ommander of the Indiana Legion to have served in the Korean War. He is a Purple Heart veteran of that conflict, having received wounds in action. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant with four battle stars from the Marine Corps. He has served as Commander of his Post, No. 254. in RiK'kport. and is a Past Eighth District Commander. He has served the Department both as a Southern Vice Commander and an Alternate National Executive Committeeman. On the National level he has served as a member of the National American Legion Insurance Trust. A microbiologist technician with the General Foods Corporation, he also has business interests tn Grandview. Indiana. He is a member of the Jaycees. the 40 ct 8. the VfW and has been active in ( ub and Boy Scouting work. Married, he and his wife, Louvena. are the parents of two children. Lt. ( harles "Dirk" Titus, now with the I . S. Naw. and a daughter, lara. a recent graduate of Indiana University . Commander Titus has adopted as his theme for his year in office: The American Legion — Serving Those Who Served". All members and their guests of the American Legion and its Auxiliary will be cordially invited to attend the earn in dinner on March 12. at 7:00 p.m., in the Post Home.
