Mrs. Ethel Fields returned home last Wednesday from a ten day stay in Saratoga. Florida, with her sister and husband. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Waldron. Sr.. Mrs. Bess Ferverda and Mrs. Crystal Lawrence spent Thursday of last week in Crown Point with Mrs. Elsie Elder, a former Walkerton resident. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin, Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Mr. and Mrs. David Yoder and Jessica, of Elkhart, were Sunday dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. John B. Guttman, in Wakarusa. Mrs. Frank Kattau. of Patchogue. New York, arrived last week to spend a few days here with her sister. Mrs. John Shaw, in North Liberty, and to visit with her mother. Mrs. Glen Hostetler, who is a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor. Walkerton. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Shaw entertained at dinner for Mrs. Kattau and Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn, Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler and Mrs. Viola Barden. Mrs. Vee Shogren and Mrs. Don Dipert will be the hostesses for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner on Saturday evening. Mrs. Doris Malstaff. of Union Mills, spent Saturday afternoon with her sister. Miss Ethel Bierly. Mr. and Mrs. Manon Anderson entertained with a birthday dinner on Sunday for their daughter. Joan Beagles. Other guests were Norman Beagles. Tim and Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hellinga and family, of Middlebury, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Frazier, of Anchorage, Alaska, are here visiting among relatives for a short time. Friday they and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Frazier and Mrs. William DePoy went to Indianapolis to spend the day with Mrs. Edith Daniels. Last Wednesday evening. MS MYSTERY SLEUTH WINNERS ARE ANNOUNCED The Multiple Sclerosis Mystery Sleuth and Marilyn Lightfoot, principal of Walkerton Elementary School, announced the school’s prize winners in the 1982 M.S. Read-A-Thon. At the Walkerton Elementary School, 344 b<x>ks were read, with sponsors donating $505.40 to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tia Jacobson was named Top Dog. Other prize winners were: National Geographic, Tia Jacobson; Portable Radio. Jerry McMahan; TShirts. Rebecca Rhodes; pens, Christine Seamon. Megan Williamson. Dustie L. Rhodes, Ryan Peterson. Rusty Peterson, Hank Hardesty and Michelle Pontius. Throughout 27 counties in northern Indiana, close to 5.000 young people representing nearly 170 schools read 45.162 books. Money raised in the pleasure reading event goes to services for the 1.000 M.S. patients and their families in northern Indiana and. this year, $22,500 went to our national office for research.
