GLENN GIRLS RUNNER-UP IN KNOX TOURNEY The John Glenn girls basketball team was the runner-up in the Knox tourney played last Saturday as thev easily won a 48-21 victory over the host Knox team in the first game and dropped a tough 40 3b decision to an undefeated team from the Culver Academy for Girls in the finals. The win and loss moved the Glenn record to 5-7 overall as the Lady Falcons have been coming on well in recent games after a slow start this season. The Culver team boosted the unbeaten string to 13-0 with the victory in the finals after defeating Pioneer in the opening round. In the Knox game, it turned out to be a “fun" game for Glenn after a very slow start by both teams. Leading only 4-3 after one period, the Glenn team forged ahead easily and allowed coach Barb Osowski to use everyone freely, resulting in

Knox was paced by Redlin with 7 points. In the championship game, it was Glenn getting the early lead, but unable to hold off the (AG team in the last three quarters as thev came from behind to win 40-36. Glenn jumped to a 10-5 first period lead, but the Culver team defense denied Glenn double figures in any following quarters and pulled to a 35 all tie by the end of regulation time and went on with a 5-1 advantage in the overtime to account for the win. Karen Hallinan led all scorers with 14 points while Julie Knowlton had 12 to pace the Glenn team.
