Glenn Girls Drop NSC Contest To New Prairie After a close first three quarters, the New Prairie girls basketball team pulled away from the Lady Falcons of John Glenn in the final period to take a 53-42 Northern State Conference victory in a game played at New Prairie. With the score 30-28, after an extremely close game all the way, a big 23 point outburst by New prairie made the difference in the game. The loss was Glenn's seventh in nine outings this season and their second in two tries in conference play. New Prairie moved their record to 7-2 with a perfect 3-0 slate in conference play. The scoring was well spread around and a little slow at the start as the visiting Glenn team held a slight 7-6 first quarter lead and bv haltime this lead was still enjoyed with a 19-18 margin. The two big gun for New Prairie. Neff and Stayback, were held to 5 and three points respectively in the first half. Glenn meanwhile had points from all five starters. However, the second half, and especially the fourth quarter proved the undoing for Glenn. Stayback and Neff each had six last quarter points and five more were added by Bladecki and Lineberry to pull away for the victory. Stayback ended the game with 13, closely followed by Neff's 12. The victors also had four other girls with six to nine points to account for their balanced total. Glenn also had great balance, but only had the five starters sharing the points with Pontius leading the way with 10, all on baskets. Kersh added nine. Vicsik and Knowlton eight each and Albertsen 7 for the rest of Glenn's points. Box Score New Prairie fg ft ft* p T.
