Mrs. Don I udwig and daughter entertained on Sunday evening with a dinner in honor of Don's birthday. Guests were Mr and Mrs. William Clark. Koontz Lake; Mr and Mrs. David Ludwig and daughter. Miss Carolyn Bacewic and Mr and Mrs. Agenw Ludwig. Homemade ice cream and cake was enjoved. Rev. and Mrs Robert C. Bowman spent Christmas with their daughter and family, the Charles Haitzes, in Menasha, Wisconsin. Enroute they visited with Mrs. Bow man 's mother and sister, in Wilmette. Illinois. Jodi and Jack Lawrence. Koontz Lake, spent from Friday to Sunday here with their grandmother. Mrs. Crystal Lawrence.

Miss Vickie Taylor, of New York City, spent the Christmas holidays in Walkerton with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Taylor. Mr and Mrs. Charles Korbuly, of Malibu. California, spent two weeks here with her mother. Mrs. Dorothy Walsh. While here they celebrated their wedding anniversary with dinner at the Tangerine Restaurant, LaPorte, with friends. They also spent Christmas with her mother and returned to their home on New Year’s Day. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Minter were in New Carlisle on New Year's Dav with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Schmeltz. Tamara Youdbulis flew back to ( alifornia on New Year's Day after spending two weeks with her mother and brothers in Mishawaka, and her grandmother. Martha Young, Walkerton. Mrs. Esther Shultz returned home the first part of last week after spending Christmas week with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shultz, and family, in St. Louis. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith and family, of Mishawaka, and Miss Ethel Bierly were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Smith. Afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bierly and daughter, Emma, of Bloomington. The Bill Bierly* spent their Christmas vacation here with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly, and returned to Bloomington the first of this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Shaw, of North Liberty, entertained with dinner on New Year's eve for Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn and Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler. During the holidays the Robert Fenstermacher home was busy with guests coming and going. The entire family was together for Christmas and a guest, John Hartsough. formerly of Walkerton, spent Christmas even with the Fenstermachers. Kim Balloff. of Chicago, was a guest this past week, who was a friend of theirs when they lived in Nome, Alaska. David Fenstermacher left on Monday for a month with a group from Taylor University hi study in France and England. ATTENDS WORKSHOP Naomi Feil, a social worker and off-broadway actress, recently presented a one-day workshop to the health professionals of Miller's Merry Manor, Inc., at the Holiday Inn. in Plymouth. Mrs. Feil. who wrote the book "Validation: The Feil Method", spoke on how to use Validation Therapy with the disoriented aged. Feil, who developed this technique, demonstrated how validation is used to acknowledge feelings and give the disoriented person dignity. arv recognition for achievements in 4-H in St. Joseph County. He will have his biography published in the appropriate volume of "Who’s Who Among American High School Students". Only five percent of the junior and senior class students are included in Who’s Who each year. Russ is a senior at John Glenn High School and he hopes to further his education at Mt. Senario College. Wisconsin. His goal is to be a conservation officer or police officer. Russ has been in 4-H for eight years and has been president of his club. He is also a member of the North Liberty United Methodist Church where he has held office in the UMYF. He is presently employed at Eberly Orchard. North Liberty.
