brother. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hostetter, in Goshen. While in Walkerton, the Hostetlers have been the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lukes, at Koontz Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Haney and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery. The Hostetters also called on former neighbors. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hostetter. Also a pleasant evening was spent with Mr. and Mrs. Philip Waldron. St. The Hostetters left Saturday, July 24, to visit with triends in Decatur, for a few days, then they will leave for their home in Lehigh Acres. Florida. The Hostetter’s would welcome a visit from any of their Walkerton friends. Sunday evening upon the return home of Mr. and Mrs. Warner Clark who had been on a canoe trip over the weekend, they were pleasantly surprised to find guests at their home waiting to hold a surprise birthday party for Warner. Judy Zahrn and Mrs. Nellie Smith. The guests provided the ice cream and cake to make the surprise complete. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Waldron. Sr., and Mrs. Bess Ferverda, will serve as hosts for the Saturday evening dinner of the Koontz Lake Conservation Club. Mrs. Evelyn Norris and Mrs. Blanche Ricks, of Koontz Lake, were Thursday visitors of Mrs. J. C. Milner. Mr. Harry Johnson and sister, Fannie, and Mrs, Francis Holwarth, of Chicago, were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oren Duthie, at Koontz Lake last Thursday. Mrs. Brenda Ranker! Jevning and two children, of Fosston. Minnesota, are here visiting with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Rankert, for a week. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn, Jr., was admitted to the Valparaiso Hospital on Monday as a surgical patient. Thursday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Gray, of Koontz Lake, were her two brothers, Mr. Albert Smith, of Mesa, Arizona, and Mr. Syb Smith, of Riverdale, Illinois, and Mr. and Mrs. William Parsons, of Valparaiso. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Moss, of West Lafayette, spent Tuesday thru Thursday in Walkerton visiting with her sister, Mrs. Goldie Chapman. Mrs. Moss, went to Winona Lake last Wednesday to spend the day with another sister, Mrs. Beulah Fetterhoff. Mrs. Bertha Urbin was in Rochester on Tuesday of this week to visit with her sister, Mrs. Anna Allen, who is a resident in the Canterbury Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Allen's birthday was celebrated with a sister of South Bend and brothers from Kewanna and Monticello, along with a few nieces and nephews. A picnic dinner was enjoyed at noon at the nursing home pagoda. Mrs. Alma Daube entertained on Tuesday evening of last week with a dinner in her home for Betty Clark and Bob Keckley, of Chula Vista.
