CHARLES E. BELLINGER Charles E. Bellinger, 92, of Rural Route 2, Box 534. Walkerton, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday. July 20. at his home following a brief illness. He was a retired farmer and had driven a school bus for the Walkerton-Lincoln Township School Corporation for 35 years. He was born on May 8, 1890. in Lincoln Township to William M. and Frederika (Wolff) Bellinger. He was a lifelong resident of the Walkerton area. He was married on January 3. 1914, in St. Joseph. Michigan, to Nina M. Hardy, who survives. Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Sheaks, of Willowbrook, Illinois, and Mrs. Charles (Doris) Wynn, of North Liberty; two sons, Grant H., of Walkerton, and William 0., of North Manchester; seven grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Dallas (Bertha) Miller, of South Bend; and two brothers, Fred Bellinger, and Floyd Bellinger, both of Walkerton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home. Walkerton, with Rev. Chester Mayflower. pastor of the Walkerton United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. until time of the service on Thursday. He was a member of the Walkerton United Methodist Church and the St. Joseph County Farm Bureau where he served on the Board of Directors. STELLA LEOLA ERICKSON Stella Leola Erickson. 88. a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor. Plymouth, formerly of Walkerton, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at the nursing home following an extended illness. She was born on February 18, 1894, in Walkerton to Simeon and Sarah (Mann) Culp. She was married to Nels W. Erickson, who preceded her in death in 1927. She was a lifelong resident of Walkerton. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Fern Culp, of Plymouth. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, Walkerton, with Rev. Warren Furnish, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Walkerton, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Walkerton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Walkerton. the Walkerton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 189, and she was a charter member of the Eagles 1900. CHRISTOPHER JAMES BUCKMASTER Christopher James Buckmaster, 14, of Rural Route 3. Box 235, Walkerton, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness of six months. He was born on June 12, 1968. in LaPorte to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Buckmaster. Walkerton, who survive along with a sister, Tonya Maria; a brother, Robert Andrew, all at home; his maternal grandmother and step-grandfath-er, Mr. and Mrs. John Nesvold, of LaPorte; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Marie Buckmaster, of LaPorte. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Kenneth Corbett, pastor of the North Liberty First Baptist Church, and Rev. Platz, 61, of 210 Apple Road, Osceola, passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 18, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an extended illness. He was born on August 4, 1920, in North Liberty and was a lifetime area resident. He was a retired carpenter. A brother, Dave E. Platz, of South Bend, survives along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, in the A. M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty, with Dr. Gaylord Saltzgaber, pastor of the North Liberty United Methodist Church, officiting. Burial was in Eastlawn Cemetery. North Liberty. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 413, a veteran of World War II and a member of the North Liberty American Legion Post 365 which conducted military graveside services. MRS. Lake, passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. July 15, at Memorial Hospital. South Bend, after being ill four months. She was born on November 11, 1905, in Morocco and she had lived in this area 60 years. She married Floyd M. Brown in December of 1949, who survives. Surviving along with her husband are three daughters, Virginia (Mrs. Gene) Berg, Hamlet; Miss Linda Brown, South Bend; and Jane (Mrs. Kenneth) Schultz, Hanna; a son. Burvel Dowty. Bradenton, Florida; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lyle Hunter, of Jasper, Texas. She was a past member of the St. Joseph County Welfare Board. She was a member of the Grovertown United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary. Walkerton, and the Oregon Township Home Economics Club. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Rannclls Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Rev. Jonathan Gosser, pastor of the Grovertown United Methodist Church, officiating.
