Mrs. Eugene Skinner. when they were told the evening celebration was in their honor. Contest winners were Mrs. Ward. Mrs. Herald Hostetler and Mrs. Philip Waldron. Sr. Door pri/e winners were Mrs. Waldron, Sr.. Mrs. Erville Kaercher. Mrs. Ward. Mrs. Skinner and Mrs. Lloyd Smith. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses. The next meeting will be on June 21 at Mrs. Hahn’s. GLENN WINS THREE GAMES LAST WEEK I he John Glenn Falcons baseball team won three games last week to raise their season record to 13-8 on the year, with play winding down to next week's Sectional. Glenn 3 • Knox 2 Don Workman gave up six hits, two of them solo home runs, in pitching Glenn to a 3-2 victory over visiting Knox on Tuesday, Max 18. I he Falcons scored their runs in the first two innings. In the first inning Jerry Merkel reached on a fielder's choice following a walk to ( raig Sarber. Merkel advanced to second on a ground out and Joe Harness doubled him home. Ron Clemons then singled to bring Harness in and Glenn led 2-0 after one inning. The final Falcon run came in the second when Gene Amor doubled after Bill Williams had walked and advanced io second on a wild pitch. Clemons was 2 for 3 in the game. He had a double to go along with his rhi single. Mike Moore homered for Knox in the fourth and Doug Biddle collected one in the sixth. Glenn Takes 2 From C.M.A. Jeff Tinkey had two home runs and a pair of singles in seven at bats in Glenn's sweep of a doubleheader against visiting Culver Military Academy by scores of 10-2 and 6-2 on Saturday. May 22. In game one. in the sixth inning. Glenn scored six runs and 11 men batted. Craig Sarber and Ed Segraves hit doubles in the inning. Brett Gouker had three singles in four at bats. Jerry Merkle gave up six hits and picked up the win to even his record at 3-3. In game two. Ron Clemons and Tinkey each had a single and a home run. Joe Harness hit a
single and a triple and Sarber w as 2 for 3. Don Workman allowed seven hits and improved his record to 4-0. OUTSTANDING SENIOR Mike Richardson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene R. Richardson, Winchester, Indiana, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Nolcheff. Rural Route 5, Walkerton, has been named as one of IO outstanding seniors at Winchester Community High School. He has been class president for the past three years, leading his class during his sophomore, junior and senior years; a three-year member of the Health Careers Club; served as the club's program chairman. Future Educators of American and homecoming committee; two year member of the Principal's Advisory Committee; spirit committee member; two year member of the National Honor Society; received numerous awards and recognitions for his leadership and academic abilities; first alternate to Boys State and was the only Randolph County representative to the Hugh O’Brien Leadership Seminar. He was one of the students who attended the high school leadership retreat last fall and was also a Senate Youth Program delegate.

Mike was a National Merit Scholarship semi-fmalist this year and received a commendation from the Association. He is also included in ''Who’s Who In American High Schools . was honored recently as W/ZY and Coca-Cola's Icen C itizen of the Week. He acted in his first dramatic production last year and has participated in musicals the past two years. He has been a spotlight operator for four years at the school and co-produced the first completely student production of a three-act melodrama as well as directed the production. He is also a sports enthusiast being a member of the Golden Falcons baseball squad and basketball manager for four years. He also was the announcer for the football games and for both the boys and girls basketball games.
