At the annual Blue and Gold Banquet held on Februarv 24, the following Scouts merited awards for their achievements as follows: Mike Beghtel. Jamie Hevel. Aaron West, Steve Foresman. Jim and Ronald RATIFY AGREEMENT Officials of United lelephone Co. of Indiana have announced that members of IBFW Local "23 have ratified a new agreement to replace one that expired Aug. 14, 1981. Voting was completed Feb. 26. 1982. The amended contract agreement includes a wage increase, revisions to insurance plans and an additional holidav. The new contract will expire Aug. 14. 1983. Over 550 of United's 1.400 fulltime employees are members of IBFW Local "23 and include installers. repair workers, construction personnel, central office tech nicians and operators. Historians say the word 'Yankee,” meaning an Amer ican, comes from the Dutch word for "pirate/'which the settler's in New Amsterdam (now New York) applied to their shrewd New England neighbors.
