DONNA KLOPFENSTEIN HAS LEADING ROLE IN ISU PRODUCTION Donna Klopfenstein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Klopfenstein. Rural RouteS, Walkerton, a sophomore at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, has a leading role in the University’s production of “Yeoman of the Guard" by W. S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan, which will run February 19-23. Donna will be playing the role of Dame Carruthers. This is a comic opera set in the Tower of London during the 16th century and tells the story' about the loss of a jester's beloved to an innocent escaped prisoner. RESCHEDULING OF EXTENSION HOMEMAKERS LESSONS FOR FEB. 25 The two lessons sponsored by the Extension Homemakers of St. Joseph County which were orig-' inally scheduled for Tuesday. February 2, have been rescheduled for Thursday. February 25 at the Esther Singer Building at the 4-H Fairgrounds. "Weeding the Wardrobe — Plan and Save” will be given from 9:30 to 11:30 a m. by Mary Ann Lien-hart-Cross, extension home economist from Elkhart County with a specialty in clothing and textiles. She will present new ways of dealing with what to save and what to keep and ways to keep what we • have looking fresh. "Energy Efficient Window Treatments” will be presented from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. by Jacquelyn Sanneman, Extension specialist in Environmental Design from Purdue University. West Lafayette. She will tel! what energy saving choices are available in window treatments. There will be no evening session for cither of these lessons. A bridal shower was given on Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stanley with 35 guests present from the surrounding area. The honored guest was Miss Donna Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Colonel Bennett. North Liberty, who will be married on March 6 to David Stanley. Hostesses for the shower were Mrs. Martha Stanley and Mrs. Rita Black. Refershments were served and beautiful gifts were received. Hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner on Saturday evening will be Mr. and Mrs. J. Cobb. Those in the LaPorte Hospital include John Wathen and Mrs. Marvin Baker. Mrs. Esther Kaufman has been dismissed. In the Osteopathic Hospital. South Bend, is Mrs. Leia Ruby. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin, Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Mr. and Mrs. David Yoder, of Elkhart, were Sunday dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. John B. Guttman, in Wakarusa. A stork shower was given for Mrs. Bill Albert on Sunday in the social room of the United Methodist Church with Mrs. Eileen Clark, Mrs. Dirk Pletcher and Miss Cindy Huhnke as hostesses. Mrs. Al bert's baby boy was born on January 23. but due to the inclement weather the shower was postponed a couple of times. There were 35 present coming from North Liberty. LaPorte. Mishawaka, South Bend. LaPaz and Walkerton. Cake and punch were served to the guests and many beautiful and useful gifts were received for the baby.
