MARY JANE BEATY CELEBRATES 80TH BIRTHDAY Sunday, December 27, is past but certainly not forgotten hy Mary Jane Beaty and members of her family. The occasion celebrated her H()th birthday with an open house which really started a few days before with the delivery of a beautiful floral table centerpiece from the Coles, in Indiana, and the arrival of our oldest granddaughter. Judy Toole, of Modesto, and her three little ones, two of which we had not seen before. Needless to say that was a happy occasion. On Friday and Saturday the mail box was stuffed with cards and letters from friends and relatives which continued over last week with a total of nearly 100 cards. On Sunday about 40 guests enjoyed a delicious meal w ith visiting, picture taking, long distance calls from sisters and unwrapping gifts during the afternoon. One gift receiving special attention was a beautiful grandmother clock made by a nephew . Roger Reeder, and of course the gold tree with 80 valuable green leaves on it —a gift from Leonard and our children. Although the Coles could not be with us in person. I know they had a big part in making my day a happy one as well as the Freelands and Roberts in whose home at Canoga Park. California, it all happened. Guests from a distance were a sister-in-law, Mrs. Witham H. Beaty, of Mulino. Oregon; Mr. and
Mrs. John McCall, of Ennis. Mt.; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Freeland, of Las Cruses, New Mexico; Mr and Mrs. Kent Freeland, of Tucson.
