P-L-J SCHOOL BOARD NEWS The Polk I incoln-Johnson Sch<x)l Board met Wednesday. December lb and at this meeting the board and the teaehers association ratified the 1981-1982 master contract. I he teachers received a 4.5 percent across the board salary increase plus increment. This salary schedule now starts at SI 1,704 with a bachelor's degree and no experience and ranges to $20,915 for a master s degree and 20 years experience. The life insurance was increased from $9,000 to $15,000. The board approved a petition of school patrons requesting the erecting and leasing of additions and remodeling to the existing John Glenn High School and North Liberty School necessary due to the annexation of Liberty Township to the school corporation. Ihe board also authorized the superintendent to advertise for an additional appropriation in the amount of $92,224.91 from the cumulative building fund to cover expenses for architect fees on the John Glenn High School and Liberty Elementary and Middle School projects and electrical repair work at the Walkerton Elementary School. A donation of an NCR 8230 computer system from OEC International. Inc., Bourbon. fall. A non-certified employee salary schedule for the 1981-82 school year was also approved by the board. SENIOR BOWLING RESULTS On Wednesday. December 16, 20 bowlers came out to do their thing. It was a good turn out considering this being a very busy time for most of us and many others leave the cold here and head for the warm south or west. And believe it or not our Cecilia Grover who has been bowling only a few weeks went home with the prize for the high handicap game. Congratulations Cecilia and keep up the good bowling. Sally Barna was second with 207. Cecilia bow led a big 230. For the men Claude Nowakowski. also a recent newcomer to the game, won the men's handicap game with 211 and Ed Rothchild was runner up with 207. Congratulations to you both. We hope you'll all be out on Wednesday, Dec. 23 if you are in town and not too busy. If not. be sure to show up after Christmas and get some exercise to take off those extra pounds you may have gained on all those Christmas goodie.
