We were glad to see Loretta Kacrcher back after several weeks absence due to illness. Also, Jim and Joan Connally were with us on the 18th and we hope they will be out often especially since Joan was winner of the ladies handicap game with a score ot IM'’, not bad for the first dax of bowling this season Lou Dipert came in second with 183; Bud Weinman was the men’s handicap winner that day with 229 and Harry Nowaczxk was a very close second w ith 228 On November 25. Dick Dipert was handicap game winner with 222 arul Stan Labno was second with 200 lou Dipert was the ladies handicap winner with 193 and Helen Kaleth came in with a 18'1 game to take second place On December 2 Dick Crane was back after an absence of sex oral weeks and went home with the pn/e for the men’s handicap game with a 225 game and Stan Labno was runner up again with 203 We

LAPORTE HOSPITAL TO RAISE RATES LaPorte Hospital has been grant ed permission to increase its room rates and other charges effective January 1. 1982. by the Indiana Rate Review Program Committee. The basic nxim charge will be $125.00, a $19.00 increase oxer the 1981 rate of $106.00. Private room rates at LaPorte Hospital will continue to be among the lowest in the state, according to the annual report. “Hospital Daily Service Charges ", a national survey of nongovernment operated acute care, short stay hospitals prepared bx the Equitable Life Assurance Soc iety of the United States. Os the 73 responding hospitals in Indiana. LaPorte’s rates are the third lowest for private rooms and the sixth lowest when compared with semi prix ate room rates. The intensive care bed rates are the eleventh lowest in the state. When comparing LaPorte Hospital rates to state and national axerages. 1 aPorte is 22.63 percent below state prix ate rates; 19 39 percent below semi prix ate rates and 2‘ 7 .'’5 percent below intensive care rates. Compared nationally, the rate is 30.49 percent below prix ate rates; 29.8 percent below semi prix ate rates and 34.55 percent below the average rate for intensive care beds The new intensive care bed rate will be $265.00, an increase of S4O.(X) from the present rate of $225.(X). ( oronarx care bed rate will increase from 5245.00 to $290.(X). These rates are the daily charges which include the room, meals, nursing care, housekeeping and maintenance and all other services which are not itemized separately such as medication or testing. Other special room rates, such as the intermediate care (telemetry), nursery. pediatric multi-bed nxims and the Stress Center, as well as other charges for clinical services will also be adjusted.
