Word was received on Tuesday morning of the death of Mr. Don Weil, former band instructor in the Walkerton Schools. He passed

He would enjoy cards and letters from his friends. MRS. THAYER CELEBRATES MOTH BIRTHDAY Mrs Clara Thaver was vers pleasantly surprised last Tuesday afternoon. December I. at Miller’s Merrv Manor Nursing Home. Walkerton, when guests started to arrive to wish her a Happy Birth-

day. She never surmised that her three daughters, namely Gladys Sheneman, of North I iberty; Susie Teter, of Mishawaka; and Evelvn Stoneburner, of near Walkerton; had planned to hold open house from two to five for her and her friends to come and surprise her. A beautiful cake baked and decorated bv her granddaughter. Nor ma Patrick, along with punch and coflee were served to over 50 rela lives, friends and patients from the home. Mrs I haver received manv love Iv cards and gifts and we are sure she will never forget her ‘Kith birth dav. SENIOR FELLOWSHIP ENJOYS CHRISTMAS DINNER AND PROC,RAM 1 he Senior Fellowship Club met on Mondav at the Walkerton Community Building for their Decern her meeting, a Christmas luncheon and program. I here were 23 present to enjoy the pre-( hristrnas activ itv. Don King gave the blessing before the delicious meal, the turkev having been done to per lection by Goldie Skinner I he tables were decorated with unusual ( hristrnas items such as crocheted snowmen, etc., made bv Virginia Waldron, creating a delightful ( hristrnas atmosphere. usually uncertain, perhaps with much snow and ice. The February meeting may be held with notice to that effect at a later date. Ihe birthday and anniversary songs were sung and Christmas Carols were included with Jane Keefe at the piano, ( ard bingo was played with prizes furnished bv the members. Don King, president, thanked the hostesses. Mrs. Skinner. Mrs. Waldron and I ula Northam for the excellent preparations and the meeting was adjourned. We all w ish I Isie I Ider, w ho w as a former president of the club, much happiness in her new home. She is leaving the immediate area, but pronuscs to get back to Walk erton often in the future. We shall look forward to her visits. After all the goodbyes and best wishes to everyone, a lovely party ended. ART WORK ON DISPLAY An exhibit of the art work of Janet Thompson, of Knox, is at trading a lot of attention this month at the Koontz Lake Library Her work is beautifully done and verv versatile From the wellknown Road Runner, painted on glass to the crosscut saw with the homestead of the Rav Klctz family of North Judson beautifully por traced, there is something for everyone. I hose who arc still pondering on ( hristrnas gifts might garner some new ideas from her display.
