Mrs. Bertha Urbin was called to Kewanna on Wednesday of this week for the funeral of a sister-in-law, Mrs. Raymond Urbin. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schultz and family, of St. Louis. Missouri, spent the Thanksgiving holidays here with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman and Mrs. Esther Shultz. Mr. Ed Pogodzinski was released on Monday from the LaPorte Hospital where he had been a surgical patient for several weeks. Sunday afternoon Miss Ethel Bierly and her sister. Mrs. SidneySmith. were in LaPorte to attend the open house at the Bernacchi's Green House. It was homecoming and Thanksgiving Day combined for the Dr. Fenstermacher family on Thursday. At some time during the day the following guests were all home. ELECT OFFICERS The Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department elected officers for 1982 recently at their November meeting as follows: John Gouker, Fire Chief (who starts his 22nd year as chief); Gene Patrick, first assistant chief; Jerry Knepp, second assistant chief; Scott King, secre-tary-treasurer; and the trustees are Mike Knepp, one year; Brian Schultz, two years; and John Dunns, three years. NEW MEMBERS The Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend has completed its 150th convocation and conferred the 32nd degree on 130 new members. The reunion was named in honor of Elias W. Strickland, 33rd degree mason, a great leader and Studebaker executive who died early this year at the age of 99 years. The new members came from 54 different Masonic Lodges in northwestern Indiana, who were members of 1 different religious denominations and 81 different occupations. Locally the new members include Kenny J. Chapman, David A. Drews, Joseph V. Smillie, Harold M. Spoerner, John R. Drews and Gregory A. Williams.
