The birthdays of Mrs Herald Hostetler and Mrs. Paul Swihart were celebrated Saturday evening with a dinner in their honor at Peddlers Village, near Goshen. Other members of the partv were Mr. Herald Hostetler. Mr. and Mrs. 1 eigh Ro\ Hahn. Mr. and Mrs Fritz Skinner, Mrs. Viola Barden and Mr. Paul Swihart. of PI v mouth. Mr and Mrs. Jim Shoue. of North Liberty, were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mrs. Marv Rensberger. also Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bullinger. A shower was given Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Dick Awald and her new born baby girl. The shower was given in the home of Mrs. Roger Norris. Many lovely gifts were given for mother and daughter. Ice cream, cake and punch were served to the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig were in South Bend Saturday to spend the day with their son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Ludwig. The Kixmtz Lake Kiwanis members of the Plymouth Club frequently get together and the oceassion this time was a St. Patrick’s gathering for a corned beef and cabbage dinner at The Inn. The Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Bowman then hosted the group for dessert at their lake home. Kiwanis members and their ladies were Al and Dorothea Brenner. Vic and Evelyn Schmidt. Ed and Margaret Moravek. Eli and Evelyn Sobat. Alfreda Onika and the Bowmans. The Knit Wits of Koontz Lake met with full attendance at the home of Vi Bregi on March 17th. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Taylor, of South Bend, and Mrs. Robert Wallace, of Fort Wayne, the former Nina Leigh Taylor, of Walkerton, were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly.

Illinois, last week visiting relatives and friends CELEBRATE GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY WITH AN OPEN HOUSE SUNDAY 1 he golden wedding anniversary of Ruth and Elliott Bobbe. of K«x»ntz lake, was celebrated at Teibd's Restaurant, in Schererville. with a luncheon and reception on Sunday, March 22. A hundred guests were there to take part in the happy event. Those attending from Koontz Lake were Charles and Lee Weinman. James and Joan Connelly. Albert Brenner and Dorothea Brenner; William Brenner and Vi Drake. Lucille Dickson. Rev. Robert and Helen Bowman. Basil and Marjorie Curl. Alice and Tom Ged goud. Evelyn and Victor Schmidt. Bea and Allen Scaholm. Ed Johnson and Selma Pry. Emil and Florence Vische. Eugene and Eleanor Knight. Harvey and Evelyn Froyck and Helen Hunter. They were also greeted by friends and former neighbors from the Chicago area. Cousins of Mrs. Bobbe came from Natchez. Mississippi, and Carthage, Illinois. Mr. Bobbe's nieces. Clare Safyn, husband and daughter and family, came from California, and Carol Claussen, another niece, came from Boston. Also a cousin of Mr. Bobbe's, Clarence and Elaine Bobbe. of Homewood. Illinois. The Bobbe’s children. Richard and Alois Bobbe. of Webster. New York, were present with their daughter. Beth and son-in-law. David and grandchild Heather and Lauric and Elliott James, daughter Anne and Ed Steele, of Orland Park. Illinois, and children John. Ruth and Ellen; and son. Kenneth and Danis and children Becky. Jennifer. Brett and Emily. The party was entertained throughout the afternoon with piano music of the 30's played softly in the background. Rev. Bowman asked the blessing. A poem written and dedicated to his wife was read by Elliott and scrolls were printed in gold and given to each
guest. It was a happy dav of memories and love and w ill be long remembered bv the celebrating couple. NAOMI FELLOWSHIP MEETS The Naomi Fellowship of the United Methodist Church. Walk erton. met at the home of Ethel Bierlv on luesdav. March 17. with 10 members present. Pauline Knowlton opened the meeting bv reading a poem. Ihe secretary's report was read and approved |he devotions were given bv Mrs. Knowlton and she read the sermonette from the Prairie Farmer Magazine by Rev. Don lennings. "Hope and Despair”. She finished with a poem entitled, "I he Question Os God's Love". Nora Hahn gave the lesson. "Mother Something Wonderful Has Happened", taken from the June 1977 Guidepost. A daughter became a Christian and finally gets her mother to become a Christian by talking to her. Telling her how happy she is since accepting Jesus as her Savior. She gave her mother a Bible. She finished the lesson by reading, "Prayer For A Windy Month". ATTENTION GOLFERS - SWAN LAKE TUESDAY NIGHT LEAGUE TO MEET The Tuesday Night Men's League at Swan Lake Golf Course will hold their meeting on April 14. at 7:30 p.m. E.S.T. at the clubhouse. All who plan to golf this year should attend as the rules will be voted on at this time, some new rules will be introduced and the voting is up to you. Please attend. COUNTY LINE CLUB MEETS County Line Club met on Monday evening ..March lb. after a long winter. It was good to be together again. New officers were elected as follows: president. Mrs Philip Waldron. Jr.; vice-president. Mrs. Bernard Rudecki; secretary. Mrs. I cigh Rov Hahn. Sr.; and treasurer. Mrs. Herald Hostetler, Jr. Hostesses were also chosen for the year. Our March meeting hostesses were Mrs Wvman Hochstetler and Mrs Lorraine Hostetler with us gathering at the Hochstetler home. There were 18 members and one guest, Mrs Doyle Palmiter, of South Bend. In absence of our president, Mrs. Rudecki conducted the business meeting. The birthday song was heard for Mrs. Herald Hostetler. Jr.. Mrs. Thomas Walsh. Mrs. Carl Creech and Mrs. Erville Kaerchcr. Ihe dix>r prizes went to Mrs. Hostetler. Jr., and Mrs. William Ward. Mrs. Lloyd Smith thanked the group for their gift and prayers w hile she was in the hospital. The annual picnic date was changed to September 27 and will be at the Stuntz & Hochstetler Pine Forest. Contest winners were Mrs. Calvin Kronk and Mrs. Waldron. Jr. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Rudecki with Mrs. Fred Daniels assisting hostess. Delicious refreshments were served and good neighborly visiting was enjoyed. be turned in. North Liberty Elementary and North Liberty High Schvxil as well as St. Patrick's School are accepting the enrollments. The enrollment fee is $2.00 this year. NEWS FROM THE RN NURSING HOME Ihe residents have been busv with holidays and parties. We would like to thank the ladies from Winona I akc Church for a wonder ful and enjoyable puppet show and the sixth grade girls from St. Patrick’s School who visited us February 21. Our February birthday party was held on the 9th honoring resident Dale Hatfield. Valentine's Day was enjoyed bv all residents with Valentine decorations around everywhere. The Blissvillc Church visited on the 22nd and an enjoyable Sunday afternoon was had. The residents made several items including plant holders made from eggshells that were colored and put on to cans and a plant put in each one. Bowling games are still underway on Fridays. The March birthday party was held on the lOth honoring residents Edgar Gustafson and Roscoe Payton. Everyone enjoyed green cake, punch and green popcorn, after plaving several fun games. On the 15th Calvary Baptist gave a nice program for every one. Preparations are now underway for a great Easter next month. The RN Home would like to thank everyone who helps make their stay here more enjoyable. Rainbows were believed by the Norsemen to be bridges between earth and the home of the gods in the sky.
