Mr and Mrs. Orville Klinedinst nturned home on Saturday from a winter vacation spent in Arizona .md Florida. They spent the first seven weeks in Mesa. Arizona, and enjoyed the almost perfect weather conditions. They also spent one week in Florida where they visited with Indiana people among them were Dr and Mrs. V. B. Wolfe. Mr and Mrs (Jeorge Hershberger, and Mrs Mina Doll, all at Sebring; Mr. and Mrs F.d You man. at Seminole; and a sister of Mr. Klinedinst at Grove City . While in Florida they had really chilly weather. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles entertained Sunday with a birthdav dinner for their daughter. Mrs. Roger Hellinga. of Middlebury. Other guests were Mr. Hellinga, Tamara and Tom; Mr. and Mrs. Sorman Beagles and family; and Mrs. Ada Miller, of Walkerton. Miss Catherine Hahn and Mitzi Knepper traveled to Muncie Sund.iv to see members of the Wesley.m Foundation'ss presentation of Godspell" and Mr. Gerald Hahn, of Walkerton, who was one of the characters. Mrs. Vee Shogrcn and Mrs. Dorothy Walsh will be hosts Saturdav evening for the Koontz Lake ( onservation Club dinner and fellow ship hour follow ing. V birthdav partv was given last Mondav night for Mr Gary Shields in the home of Mr. Gary Clark. Tins was a birthdav surprise for Mr. Shields CixAics and ice yrcam were served to Mrs. Nellie Smith. Illinois, spent Notes From Miller’s Merry Manor By Florence Peek We thank the ladies from Church of Christ of North Liberty for presenting services on Tuesday after noon. January 6. and the women from St. John's Lutheran Church for services on December .10 in the afternoon. We have had several residents catch flu this first week in January. Fight dining room residents have been absent from the tables for several meals. They have since recovered and returned to the dining room. We arc sorry to report the deaths of two persons who had been residents here, Mabel Travis, who had returned to her home, and Florence Morris, who left to enter the hospital. From there she went to a different nursing home. We were happy to have them with us as they always had a sweet smile. We extend our sympathy to their friends and families. A new member has been added to our circle of interest. Brenda I a novic had a daughter the last of December. Elizabeth. Our resident Mane Stahly was in the hospital for surgery for several weeks but has returned feeling better. We have three new residents, Mrva Shinn. Florence Dunfee and lev Rhodcbcck. We welcome them and hope they enter our activities One of our aides who has been '•uh us a long time has for personal casons decided to stay at home a while. Best wishes to Lisa Hol Mon. Also, one of our evening NN's has also retired. We are s °rry as we shall miss Beth Norris cry much. We offer our sympathy to Betty Ogle on the death of her sister. Rev. John (Joodpasture was in Indianapolis last week end visiting his daughter and familv. Mr. and Mrs Bill Dustman, and her son, Douglas Griffith. On Sunday thev went to Ball State, at Muncie, to visit his granddaughter. Beth Ann Griffith, who is a student there. The Singles Club was enter tained in the home of Mrs. Bertha Urbin Mondav night of this week with four substitutes filling in for members who were ill or awav The guests were Mrs Vee Shogran. Illinois, with her son and familv celebrating the birthdav of one of her grandsons Miss ( indv Huhnke and three other college friends from different places spent the weekend in Ohio, near Dav ton. visiting another friend thev had made while on campus. Mr and Mrs Fred Bullinger were luesdav dinner guests of Mrs Marv Rensberger Mr. (Id ford Ward was a visitor Mondav with his sister. Mrs Rensberger. Congratulations to Jane Goble for being elected employee of the year for 1980 and to Brenda Futa and (iina Newland for being chosen Grooming Aides of the year for 1980. The birthday partv for January birthdav residents was held January 25. Guests of honor were Bess I urnbull. LaVerne Wixxl. Edgar Weddle. Floyd Bellinger. Frank Imbragugho. Entertainment was furnished by I odd Wathen who plavcd the piano. We enjoyed especially "Moonlight Sonata" and "Berceuse from Jocelyn". We thank the Rev. Stoops for their service and the Wesleyan Church for their service. We also thank Mrs. Walter Smith for leading our Bible Class on Thursday afternoons, also Leila Bare and Nadine Keiper for leading our "let's Express Ourselves" class on Thursday mornings. We are sorry to report that Mabel Anderson is in the hospital. Beth Carter was in the hospital tor surgery some time ago. She is now at home and getting along slowly but surely . We are looking forward to her return to us. Our sympathy goes to Florence < lillie) Master's familv and friends. Florence was a former resident of our nursing home. Teachers ( redit Union assets increased 14% to SB2 9 million made up of $79,398 million in shares, a 19% increase over Wn. Hawkins also reported that over $6 million was paid to the members of Teachers Credit Union on their regular share and share draft accounts. This was an increase of 42% in the payment of div idends to the 44.466 members of leathers Credit Union. In this preliminary report. Hawkins also commented on the economic climate in which we now live, stating that mans of the mem hers of Teachers Credit Union switched their Visa to Teachers Credit Union to where thev now have over S.(XX) accounts and 7.5(X) cardholders.
