Rebounding, free throws and great team defense were the kev s to the tournament victory In the first game against an ex tremeh tall and talented 1 aPorte Boston team, the Panthers won bv a score of 43 H Rick Hardestv led m scoring with IK points, hitting 10 <>f 10 from the free throw line Ihe Panthers hit- I' of 25 free throws against Boston. Recognition should be given to Rick Hardestv. Damon Groves and Darren Skiles lor their ball handling skills Ihe Panthers were in a spread offense most of the second half and those voting men did an outstanding job Delano Overton. Dannv Sarber and Greg Dreessen demonstrated kev defensive skills. Urey 39 • UVIUe 31 In the championship game against l.aVillc. Urey found them selves down bv five al halftime due to Irov Gurtncr's excellent outsideshooting He scored 12 points in the first half Urvv made a lew adjustments at halftime and then uime out in the second hall with a great deal of intensity on defense. Bv doing this, thev were able to take control of the game and Urvv won over I aVillc bv the score of 19 31 Greg Dreessen led the Panthers in scoring with 10 points Fred Newland did an outstanding job on defense. Newland frustrated and look laVille's big man complctclv out of his game. It was Newland's U si all round performance of the war.
