Jump Rope For Heart Fund At Walk. Elementary On March 6. from I (X) ■ 2:30 p m.. members of the student b<xlv of Walkerton Elementary School w ill be participating tn a jump rope marathon to benefit the St. Joseph Counts Heart Association. The event is called the "Pepi Jump Rope for Heart” and it will he held at the Walkerton Elementary School. Participants will be asked to solicit pledges from individuals and area businesses based on each minute or hour their entire team of six members intends to jump rope continually. I rophtes will be awarded to each of the winning team that collects the most monev among its six members (a minimum of S3OO to be eligible for the trophies). To the

versity and the Indiana State Teachers Association, will be offered this semester in Plymouth. Ihe class will meet on Mondays, beginning February 23. from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Plymouth High School. The starting date was changed from February 16. due to the Presidents Day Holiday. Project T.E.A.C.H. is designed to aid classroom teachers in developing practical techniques for dealing with discipline problems, maintaining classroom control, and relating positively and effective to students Five quarter hours of graduate credit from Ball State University may be earned by participation in this instructional program. Marcia Richter, in Bremen Registration should be completed by Friday, February 20. SCHOOL BOARD NEWS The Polk-Lincoln-Johnson School Board met in regular session on Tuesday evening. They designated the two local banks. Farmers State Bank of Wvatt-Walkerton. and First Bank and Trust Company for depositories for the public funds. They also accepted the interest rates from the Farmers State Bank on the advertised temporary loans totaling S22O.(XX) and the loan of SSO.(XX) for the two school buses. Conference requests were granted for Tom Hall and Dennis Rippy to attend a football clinic at Kalamazoo. Michigan. February 27. and Jav Berkebile and I inda Parker to attend a computer clinic at South Bend on March 14 I he superintendent presented a reduction in force proposal to the board Action will be taken on this at a later meeting. A new statement of values to update the insurance coverage for all corporation properties starting March 15 was presented by the corporation's insurance agent. Approval for these increased values will be considered at the next meeting Terrs Short, arthitect from P AC! Associates, discussed the revised renovation plans for the Ures Middle School. A public meeting on the Urey renovation project will be held in the very near future. The next school board meeting is luesdav. February 24. at 7:00 p.m in the administration building.
