Women’s Club Discusses Books At Last Meeting When Nancy Dow hit. librarian at the Walkerton Public library was unable to come to the meeting of the Walkerton Community Club at the Community Building on January lb. the “Walk Thru The World Os Books ', which she was to bring to the ladies, was detoured to a charming history of favorite nursery rhymes. Versatile Betty King brought many historic and interest mg stories to the ladies about nursery rhymes which she had researched over the years. By her own admission Betty enjoyed the rhymes more now than she did the first time around. Most of the fay orite rhymes were written many, many years ago. but are still the children's favorites Most children in childhood are taught the little "Now I lay me dow n to sleep" prayer written in 1737 and will enjoy this different version of it — "Now I lav me dow n to sleep, a bag of peanuts at ms feet, if I should die before I wake, give them to mv sister Kate." Illness prevented several hostesses from serving at this dessert

In her devotions Esther Smith told us all to try to show more love for one another. Love can he shown even without touching bv looking into another's eves. or. trv touching with sensitivity and sin verity. She said some mementos of love are so cold they could be done bv a secretary instead of a loved one. She reminded us to always remember God’s love. ( onservation chairman.
