NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR SCHOOL BUS I he Board of School Trustees of the Polk I incoln-Johnson School Corporation, Marshall! a Porte-St. Joseph Counties. Indiana, will receive bids at the administration office. 506 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton. Indiana, until 7:30 P.M. on Februarv 3. 1981. for two (2) 66 passenger school bus bodies and tw o chassis to fit such bodies. Submit bid prices based on payment for chassis due when affidavit verifying delivery to body com pan v is given to the superintendent, and pavment for bus bodv made fifteen davs after state police inspection approval. Request buses be delivered by August I. 1981. Include as an alternate bid the following items: Whelan strobe light model 1200. radio, tow hooks front and rear, mudflaps on the rear tires. 2.(XX) watt in-line engine block heater, vacuum stop arm. automatic heavy duty four speed transmission. 12 plv tires on all six wheels, and a heavy duty V-8 engine with a 360 cubic inch engine. Bids will be accepted for hixlv and chassis separately or as a combined unit. All bidders must be willing to combine chassis and body bids accepted by the Board of School Trustees. Arrangements for all such combinations are the responsibilities of the bidders involved in all cases. All body and chassis bids must meet the minimum specifications of the Indiana School Bus Committee. However, the following must be considered: I.) No engine may be bid which is 6 cylinder even though it meets net horsepower requirements and RPM listings. A heavy duty V-8 enginge with a minimum 350 cubic inch engine is preferred. Failure to meet any minimum requirements must be itemized and accounted for as part of the bid. Failure to do so w ill be considered a breach of contract. Bids will be submitted on State Board of Accounts Form No. 95. all parts of which will be attached and properlv filled out. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or bank officer’s check made payable to the order of the Treasurer of the School Corporation or acceptable bidder's bond in favor of said Treasurer for an amount of not less than 5 percent of the amount of the proposal, w hich check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages in case of failure of any successful bidder to enter into contract w ithin ten days after notification of the acceptance of his proposal Bids will be accepted on the date and time specified and bids will be taken under consideration, with the successful bidder to be notified at a later date. I he Board of School Trustees of the Polk-Lincoln-Johnson School Corporation reserves the right to reject any and or all bids and accept anv bid at their discretion.
