INCREASE IN LICENSE PLATES FOR 1981 Legislation passed during the 1980 General Assembly mandated an increase in the statutory fees regarding the purchase of 1981 license plates for specific vehicles. Pursuant to 1( 9-1-4 41. the following classifications will be effected by the mandatory increase: motorcycles. house cars (recreational vehicles), trucks, farm trucks, semi trailers, tractors, school buses and church buses. The legislation also created two new categories for vehicle plates. Farm tractor and farm semi-trailer license plates will be made available in 1981. (The semi-trailer plates and the farm semi trailer plates are available as cither oneyear or two-year plates.) An average increase of approximately 25% of last year’s registra tion fees may be expected by those individuals purchasing a license plate within one of the above-men-tioned classifications. This increase is reflected on the 1981 preprinted registration forms currently being mailed by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. For information regarding the precise increase for a specific vehicle, please contact the Cash Audit Department, Bureau of Motor Vehicles. 317/232-2806. R.E.A.L.
