November 7, filed an amended petition with the Public Service Commission of Indiana which will reduce a previously filed request to pass on increases in gas costs to its customers On October 24. 1980. NIPSCO filed a petition to pass on increased natural gas costs from two of its pipeline suppliers totaling s2l 669.84 b Under the revision filed Friday. the requested increase will be lowered to $16,720,317. effective in December. 1980. The utility said that if the amended request is approved, the average NIPSCO residential customer using natural gas for homeheating and other purposes (W’.MK) cubic feet per year) w ill pay about $1 04 per month more of sl2 4" per year instead of $1.35 per month more or sl6 20 per year more as requested in the October 24. 1980 petition I he average NIPS( O residential customer using natural gas for pur poses other than homeheating (iMKiMI cubic feel annually) will

Adjustments in gas rates to NIPSCO customers, usually upward and sometimes downward, have occurred and will continue to occur as rates from NIPSCO's five pipeline suppliers change. The annual cost of gas for the average NIPSCO residential customer using natural gas for homeheating and other purposes (14".600) cubic feet a year) will be $520..30. beginning in December. 1980. if this petition is approved bv the Commission. The average NIPSCO customer using natural gas for purposes other than spaceheating (39,800 cubic feet a year) will pas annual costs of 5168.23.
