Stackhouse Urges Members To Vote - Marion Stackhouse, president of the Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc., and guest speaker at the District I annual meeting held at Ancilla College. Marion Stackhouse, president of the Indiana Farm Bureau. Inc., was the guest speaker at the annual District I Farm Bureau meeting held Friday . October 24, at Ancilla College. In his address. Stackhouse urged the 275 members present to get out and vote for the party of their choice, but VOTE, on November 4th. He elaborated on five points of interest to the farmer, speaking number 1: to the Dairy Farmers and the cost of production; number 2: The need of tax cuts — defeating inflaction for a stable economy. He said “It we don't get inflation under control it will kill us. The small business-farmer just cannot exist under these conditions. There must be capital to start a business. Number 3; We must avoid an energy crunch in the near future; number 4: We finally have an agreement with China for 6 to 9 million tons of grain business, (iovernment is Irving to get into the picture and this is not good for the independent farmer. SENIOR CITIZEN BOWLING NEWS We had 23 bowlers and six spectators at the Walkerton Lanes on Wednesday . October 22. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Beard were new spectators. Joan Connelly and Bud Weiman were new bowlers. Competition was pretty hot on Wednesday. Andy Anderson had a 601 series with a 243 and 215 game. How about that? Emil Vische had a 500 series with a 201 game. He also took the handicap game w ith 240. Tony Safar had a 484 series and a 168 game. Chuck Joyce had a 4’3 and a I’o game. Jim Connells had a 176 game and Stan Labno had a 162 game. Anne Labno had the handicap game w ith 221. Anne Jackson had a 154 game. Pretty good for people between the ages of 60 and 80.
