The Ancilla Domini Sisters and Ancilla College students will be holding their annual bazaar from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. EST on Sunday. November 2. in the school auditorium. Featured will be a variety of crafts and articles of needlework, as well as articles in a “New To You Booth". There will be the traditional “Cherry Tree” with chances to win prizes; and the “Gum Pull” and "Fish Pond" will apeal to the younger set. Delicious chicken dinners will be served beginning at 12:00 EST. Coffee and donuts will also be available for sale. Booth space has been expanded and there arc a few new attractions this year. At 4:30 p.m. will be the drawing of the winners of the raffle. Everyone is invited to visit Ancilla auditorium on Sunday. November 2 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. EST.

RECEIVES FULL ACCREDITATION LaPorte Hospital president. Leigh E. Morris, announced recently that LaPorte Hospital has received full two year accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (JCAH). “This means that our efforts to provide high quality patient care have earned professional recognition," said Mr. Morris. "It also means," he continued, "that we arc committed to evaluate and improve the quality of service we provide on an ongoing basis." LaPorte Hospital has been accredited since it was formed in 1967. Its predecesor institutions. Holy Family and Community Hospital were first accredited in 1956 and 1961 respectively. of hospital service and is making continued progress toward improving patient care and service. In a department head meeting called to announce the achievement of two year accreditation. Mr. Morris complimented the hospital's medical and professional staff for their dedication and efforts in preparing for the bi-annual review. Joseph S. D/wonar. Senior Vice President, coordinated the preparation for JCAH survey team visit. Along with the accreditation, JCAH sends a list of recommendations that serve to identify areas of the hospital in which improvement can be made. The hospital will be conducting an Interim SelfSurvey in about one year, after which the hospital will report to JCAH its progress toward implementing their recommendations. Copies of the letter giving twoyear accreditatioin, and recommendations for improvement were sent to the Chairman of the Hospital Board and the President of the Medical Staff as well as the Hospital President. In July of this year, a JCAH survey team (a physican. nurse and hospital administrator) spent three days in LaPorte Hospital viewing, reviewing, examining and measuring hospital performance in all departments. This survey was carried on through several different mtehods: visual inspection of the hospital, examination of documents. policies, and procedures, and interviews with hospital personnel. JCAH is a private, not-for-profit organization created by and composed of health care professionals. Standards are revised and new standards ( dec eloped to keep the level of care consistent with current knowledge, techniques and/or government regulations. Sunshine Week Is Observed At John Glenn Sunshine week was October 6-10 at John Glenn High School. The Sunshine Society had many activities including the decorating of the windows and lockers for the week. Other activities included a Sunshine Queen contest for the most beautiful guy, dressed as a girl and selling baked goods, both of which were for the Riley Hospital. We made $42.00 on the contest and $90.00 on the baked goods. We also made corsages for the teachers and wore yellow and white, the Sunshine colors, on Friday. Monday, October 27, was our Halloween party. All the girls were dressed in costumes and were judged for the three top winners. First place went to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Snow White
