SCOUT NEWS The September meeting of Cub Scout Pack 241 was held Wednesday evening. September 24 at the United Methodist Church. This meeting was unique because it contained three parts —a separate

The Cubmaster is Dick Peterson and Assistant Cubmaster is Dick Ives. The Committee for Pack 241 was also formed at this time. Jim Johnson is chairman and Sheila Scott, recording secretary and treasurer. Various chairmen were appointed. These consist of Barbara Sobicrajski. fund raising; Vaughn Eastburn, transportation; Den Leader Coach. Karen Peterson; Blue and Gold Banquet. Vicky Reiter. Karen Peterson and Nora Hall; publicity. Janice Lappin; and committee members. Benita Ken- | nedy. Sue Jones. Carole Holderbaum. Beth McCool and Walt Van Luc. A successful scouting program depends on competent volunteers. Through the aid of these parents. Pack 241 is off to a good start. At this meeting, various achievements earned by the Wcbelos were awarded. The boys that have earned these badges are: Charles Basham. Brian Kennedy, Martin Lappin and Jim McCool earned their athletic award; Daniel Peterson received his athlete, forester, geologist and naturalist badges. Troy Reiter earned his athlete, artist and aquanaut badges; Tim Ives received his aquanaut, citizen, forester, geologist, naturalist and outdoorsman badges. Paul Groves and Larry Hall Jr. both received silver arrow s. Two upcoming events in the month of October were announced. The Cub Scout Olympics will be held on October 11 at the Starke County Fairgrounds. The entry fee for each boy will be paid by the pack. A Halloween Party will be held on October 29 at the North Liberty United Methodist Church.
