Open house was held Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon at various named places celebrating the graduation of the following graduates of the class of 1980 of John Glenn High School: David Fenstermacher, Kelly McGovern. Debra and Diana Lowry. Craig Ochs, Rebecca Ransbottom and Greg Brovoid. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kcrchaert arrived home from Lake Placid, Florida, Thursday night after a winter’s stay. Mr. and Mrs. John Kiracofe and family, of Fort Wayne, spent the week end here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery. Mr. and Mrs. Kiracofe and family will be moving next week to Texas where Mr. Kiracofe has employment. Last week Mr. and Mrs. David Daube and daughter, Mrs. Alma Daube, and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Schoff, attended the graduation of Miss Kathy Daube, in Fort Wayne, from the I.U. school of dentistry, as a dental hygenist. Mrs. Jerry Sheaks and son, Ty, of Dallas, Texas, spent the w-eek end here with Mr. Sheaks’ mother. Mrs. Alice Sheaks. Mrs. Jerry Sheaks is a stewardess for American Airlines. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Duthie came home from their Fedhaven, Florida home where they had spent the winter months last Friday. On Saturday their son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Duthie, came to visit them and also to visit her parents in Hamlet. On Sunday, their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Butterfield, of Chesterton, were guests of the Duthies. Mr. and Mrs. K. Rosek, of Homewood. Illinois, and Mr. Richard Shogren. of Detroit. Mich., spent part of last week here with Mrs. Vee Shogren. of Koontz Lake. On Monday of this week. Mrs. Shogren’s sister and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Ford Bain, of Sebastin, Florida, came for a few days visit. Mrs. Oran Shuler has been a surgical patient and would appreciate hearing from her Walkerton friends. Her address is 10692 Russell Avenue. Garden Grove, California 92640. Mr. Ray L. Carbiener was the honored guest on Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray J. Carbiener. Plymouth. The occasion being Ray’s birthday. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Leland Donathen and Karen, of North Liberty; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sanders, of South Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Gene Carbiener and family, of North Liberty; and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Fisher and son. of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Onika, Miss Dorothea Brenner and Mr. Albert Brenner attended the 53rd annual Big Sing of the Associated Male Choruses of America. Inc., in Flint. Michigan, this week end. Mr. Brenner and Mr. Onika are members of the South Bend Scottish Rite Choir. This choir and the South Bend Elks Choir are members of the A.M.C.A. Mrs. Goldie Chapman visited with her sister, Mrs. Beulah Fetterhoff, at Winona Lake, on Friday and attended the commencement exercises of Grace Theological Seminary. Week end guests of the Dr. and Mrs. Robert Fenstermacher family were Mr. and Mrs. George Fenstermacher and Miss Iris Abbey, of L’pland. Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Owens, of Indianapolis; Mr. Tom Hough, of Decatur; and on Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. Mark Fenstermachcr and family, of Elkhart. They were all here for the graduation celebration for the two Fenstermacher boys, David and Edward. Edward was a graduate from Taylor University, a Com Laudc graduate and his grandfather. who was a former member of the faculty, marched in with the faculty and graduates. David was a graduate of John Glenn High School. Mrs. Victoria McCann, of the 76 Apartments, came home from the LaPorte Hospital last week. On Sunday her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Kuntz, of Hammond. came to visit her. Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Bud) Thompson, of Koontz Lake, held an open house for the daughter. Shari, on Sunday afternoon. Shari is an employee of the Knox radio station and some of the radio personalities were present for her open house. The birthday of Adam Jacob was celebrated Sunday with a dinner in his honor in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Jacob. Other guests were Katie Jacob. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Jacob, of Angola, and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mullett. Adam was six years old. Mr. Tom Wood, of Carson. California. came for the graduation exercises of his grandson, Douglas Keeling, from John Glenn High School on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Renz and family and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Parmley attended commencement at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, where Craig Parmley received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Theater. He received the Theta Alph Phi outstanding senior award in theater and Indiana State ■’Clipboard” award for outstanding work in theatre management.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gerber were in Muncie on Friday and Saturday On Saturday they attended the Ball State University Commencement where their son. Charless, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Political Science. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Kinney, of Largo. Florida, flew in last Satur day. May 3, for a surprise visit with her sister and brother-in-law. Mr and Mrs. Gene Haney. Monday. May 5, was Mrs. Haney’s birthday and having her sister here was a verv special gift. Friday evening visitors were Mr. and Mrs Dwight Annis and Mrs. Anita Snyder. Saturday morning. Mrs Virginia Annis. Mrs. Dorothy Kin ney and Mrs. Delores Haney, granddaughters of the late Bill Snyder, of North Liberty, went to the Mishawaka Police Station where a picture hangs of their grandfather when he was on the police force and later became police chief. The picture was taken in March of 1927. Mrs. Anita Snyder. of North Liberty, also went on the trip to Mishawaka. TWO TOPS CLUBS TO MEET IN WALKERTON Two new TOPS Clubs will meet in Walkerton on Thursdays at the United Presbyterian Church. The morning club will weigh in at 9:00 a.m. with the meeting to begin at 9:30 a.m. The evening club will weigh in at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Anyone interested in “Taking Oft Pounds Sensibly", please attend.
