V Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Huffstetter, of Route 5, Walkerton, announce the engagement of their daughter Delia to Ed Hupp. Jr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hupp, of 914 N. Center Street. Plymouth. Miss Huffstetter is a 19 7 8 graduate of John Glenn High School. She attended Ancilla College and is employed as an instructor by Slenderform Universal Health Spa. Mr Hupp is a 19'6 graduate of Plymouth High School. He attended Indiana University where he studied business. Mr. Hupp operates Master Distributors of Plymouth. Argos and Winamac in a study regarding negotiating with NIPSCO for future considerations concerning their electric rates in the future. Ihe studv will see what possibilities there may be to pre-purchasing power with the utilitv to get more considerations that muncipalities can get that the utilitv can't. This, if feasible, would have to be approved bv NIPSCO and a meeting with the towns representative and NIPSCO is set for Januarv 9. 1980. Ihe studv, if completed, would cost $20,000 and Walkerton's share, based on power used, would be $3,392. while Bremen would pav $",834. Winamac $6,220 and Argos $2,254. After consideration of the entire matter, a motion was made, seconded and passed for Walkerton to join the other three towns in this studv to in the long run give reduced rates through different bonding power, pre-purchase, etc. More information will be known on this matter after the Januarv 9 meeting with the utility. Iwo ordinances were presented for final approval, and after deliberated studv. were approved. One concerns establishing a department of buildings and office of building commissioner, regulating the fabrication. erection, construction, enlargement. alteration, repair, relocation. extension and use of all buildings and structures in the Town of Walkerton and providing for the issuance of permits therefore, providing penalties tor the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances and part of ordinances in conflict with the new ordinances. The second is an ordinance providing for the inspection, repair or removal of unsafe buildings within the I own of Walkerton. Both ordinances are published in another

I hat. and a reply from Combs-Architects, was read and the board was satisfied that all questions were answered propcrlv and the board wishes to extend their best on a successful endeavor bv these two local men. Marvin Williams, utilities superintendent. gave the board some prices on tile for the ditch along Highway 23 at the south edge of W alkerton. Ihe cost was $4.10 per foot for tile and $32.85 each for five tecs Bv the latter part of this week, the town should be hearing from Mr. Nixon, the State Highwav engineer, on what thev would do for the project. The board moved, seconded and accepted the motion to install drainage tile and it was hoped the cost would not exceed $4,000.00. Ihe board received an ordinance from the clerk-treasurer verifying the different cuts in the budget for 1980 as the frozen tax lew will allow, ihe ordinance was approved by the board.
