Ihe 12 contestants are as follows: Contestant number 1 is Theresa Bealor. the 17 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Bealor of Walkerton. She had brown hair and green eyes. Her favorite subject at John Glenn High School, where she is a senior, is business. She hopes to further that interest by attending h y Tech to become a computer operator. She was also nominated for Who's Who Among Distinguished \meruan High School Students. Among her interests arc tennis, reading, baseball, and hockey. In 19" Miss Johnston traveled to Spain on the Intra American Student Program. She was also been in 4 H for six years and is a member of the Gene Van's Accordian Youth Symphone. Jacquie hopes to attend IUSB or Purdue to pursue a career as an accountant. Contestant number 3 is Debbie Lowry. Debbie is the 17 year old daughter of Mrs. Carolyn Lowry, of Walkerton. She is 5’3” tall, has brown hair and brown eyes. A senior at John Glenn High School Debbie is captain and made National competition in pompom's. She is a member of the Honor Society and swing choir. In her spare time you may find Miss Lowry skiing, horseback riding, or roller skating. She also enjoys working on macramc. After graduation she would like to become a legal secretary. Contestant number 4 is Kathleen Reed the 17 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reed of Walkerton. She stands 5’3” tall and has light brown hair and blue exes. At Oregon-Davis, where Kathie is a senior, she is vice-pres-ident of FHA. president of the 4-H Club. Sunshine Society president, pep club, and secretary of the Science Club. She also participates on the yearbook staff, swing choir, and is in the Honor Society. She has also won first and second places in Oratorical contest and was also selected for Who's Who Among Distinguished American
High School Students. When not busy with sch<x>l activities you may find Kathie telling stories at the Ki»ont/ Lake Library where she is a storx teller. She also enjoys reading. playing tennis, writing, riding horses, and playing floor hixkcx. After graduation from high school. Miss Reed would like to attend Purdue University and become a Veterinarian. IM® Debbie Jenney is contestant number 5. She is the 17 year old daughter of Mr. Dean Jenney and Mrs. Pam Osborn. She is 5'3” tall, has brown hair and blue eyes. Debbie is a senior at John Glenn High School w here she is a member of the National Honor Society . She has also been awarded the most improved runner award of 1977 and holds the school record for the one mile run for 19" and 1978. She is also a member of the track, basketball. and cross country teams. Debbie is the John Glenn I FA secretarx. Her hobbies include training horses and giving horseback riding lessons, skating, tennis, running, and dancing. Debbie is in her 9th vear of 4-H She was a state finalist in the Miss United Teenager Pageant. She is the 17 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buthyl (Lewie) Reed of Walkerton. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and stands s'7'j” tall. At John Glenn, where she is a senior, she has been vers active as a cheerleader for four vears, a member of the Sunshine Scxiety for four years, a class officer for three years, a member of pep club, swing choir, tennis team, and chorus. Outside of school she is involved in Rainbow and is a cheerleading sponsor for St. Patrick's cheerleaders. She also enjoys sewing, cross country, water skiing, tennis, jogging, bike riding, cooking, and camping. She was selected for All Conference Band of 197 g. 1979. When not active with her school activities, she is busy as a 4-H junior leader and a Sunday School teacher. She also enjoys ceramics, swimming, ice skating, basketball, softball, singing, and dancing. She hopes to attend International Business College and become a Certified Public Accountant.
