Ihe Walkerton Halloween Parade was one of the biggest ever. A terrific day and the parade and party was enjoyed by all. The Walkerton Jaycees sponsor the annual event and would like to thank the John Glenn High School Band for their excellent presentation. Also thanks to the Walkerton Police and Fire Departments and the many others who worked so hard. Costume winners in the age groups are as follows: Up to Two Year Old — first, Mike Minon; second. Eric Stafford; and third, Jackie Hathaway. Three to Five Year Olds — first. Shannon Bottorff; second. Tyson Mellon; and third. Mindy Johnson. Six to Eight Year Olds — first, Brett Verkier; second. the American Legion. November 10-12. 1919, an act was established for the formation of an Auxiliary to The American Legion. But it was not until November 1-2, 1921, that the first National Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary was held, that being in Kansas City, Missouri. Ihe Auxiliary was founded as a civilian organization of women, all of w ho are mothers, w ives, daughters. sisters or granddaughters of the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. Special interest will be given on the Membership of the Auxiliary and the initiation of members at the pot luck dinner Thursday evening. November I. at 7:00 p.m. This dinner meeting will include special guests of the District, those being: Mrs. Marjorie Morton. Third District President. Michigan City; Mrs. Audrey Raymond. Vice-President. LaPorte; Mrs. Leanna Shipley. Secretary. Michigan City; and Mrs. Miriam Storey. Treasurer. Michigan City. Mrs. Douglas Brovoid is the Unit Membership Chairman for the year and urges all members and their husbands to attend the meeting. Each member is asked to furnish a covered dish and their own table service. Ihe president of the Unit. BAZAAR SATURDAY The Annual Fall Bazaar, sponsored by the United Methodist Women of North Liberty, will be held at the Church on November 3. Brunch will be served from 8:30; a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with homemade rolls. Turkey dinner begins at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be sandwiches and soup available also. The booths will include specialties of candy, baked goods, yarn shop, aprons, woven rugs, a Christmas botique, including tree trims, table decorations, etc. The Country Store with lots of homemade jellies, pickles, applebutter, noodles and items to numerous to mention, will be featured. Toys and games are featured for the children including stuffed toys, wooden games and puzzles and a spice booth.

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT AT JOHN GLENN Financial Aid Night for interested parents and juniors and seniors will be held at "’iJO p.m. Tuesday night. November 6 in room 105 at John Glenn High School. Scholarships. grants, loans and other financial aids for college bound students will be discussed. Information will be presented on the financial aid form which all parents are required to file it their sons or daughters applied for financial aid to a college or university.
