ELECTION OF OFFICERS HELD Mrs. Charles Zila. County pet and hobby leader, conducted the election of officers for the Johnson Township Farm Bureau on Thursday evening at the community building. Elected were Lewis Dipert. president: Harold Knowlton. vice-president; Floyd Dipert. treasurer; Mrs. Larry Anderson, secretary; Mrs. Harold Knowlton, women's leader; Alma Daube, assistant women's leader; Esther Kaufman, publicity and Mrs. Richard Hesters, pet and hobby leader. The meeting date of the organization will be changed after the first of the year with the meetings to be held on the second Tuesday of each month. Mr. Dipert. president, presided at the business session. Mrs. Knowlton, women's leader, gave the devotions, a sermonette bv Don Jennings from the Prairie Farmer magazine. A financial report on the repair of the community building was made. The donations and food sale have covered most of the expenses. Announcements were made on the District meeting to be held November 13. at Merrillville, at the Greek Orthodox Church and for State Convention to be held on December 2 to 4 in Indianapolis. Alex and Jane Kuklinski were able to return to the group Wednesdav. October 10 Hope they continue to do so. I here was a little time before bowling began and John Hansen. Tony Safar and George Barna play ed a game of pool. SCOUT NEWS r Last Saturday Pack 241. North Liberty, participated in the Cub Olympics, held at Camp To-pe-ne-bee. near Michigan City. The weather was gloomy but the scouting spirit was high and everyone had a good time. Some of the events of the Olympics were fried fish worm eating contest, defusing the bomb, swinging cobra and galloping terripan. The follow ing scouts won blue and red ribbons in the Olympics. Den I. first place. Jon Helminger; and second place. Roger Dittmar. Den 2. first place. Brian Kennedy and second place. Steve Ryan. Webelos. first place. Rick Dillon and second place. Matt Helminger. Steve Hevel came in second place in the greased pig event for the honor of the district. On October 23 from 7 ; 00 to 9:00 p.m. Pack 241 will be having their roller skating party at Plymouth. The cost will be SI.OO per person who will be skating. Families wishing to car pool should meet at the Methodist Church parking lot at 6:30 p.m. October 30, at 7:30 p.m., will be the pack meeting to be held at the North Liberty Methodist Church. All scouts arc asked to come to the meeting in a Halloween costume. All parents who have a boy from the ages of seven to 10 years of age and are interested in scouts are urged to attend.
