Because of an airline strike, thev were able to stav two extra days compliments ot the travel agency. so thev ventured out on their own, taking public trains into eastern Switzerland where onlv German is spoken. They report that thev were impressed not onlv with the beautiful Swiss scenery but with the cleanliness, honesty and friendliness of the people ot Switzerland. Miss Jane and Miss Catherine Keefe were hosts last week tor two days to tour friends from C hicago. Marv land and Pennsylvania. In Virginia Beach. Va.. thev stopped to see his sister in the hospital. Their trip was so enjoyable because of the coloring of the trees. On Sunday they attended the 40th wedding anniversarv of Mr. and Mrs. Ha r ry DePoy. in Winamac. Mrs. Elizabeth Michalski and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Burch will be hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation C lub dinner this Saturday evening, and an hour of visiting and games follow ing. Mr. Robert Haas, of Chicago, spent Sunday with his mother. Mrs Bess Ferverda. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Frank Haas, of Calumet City, came and the group went to Koontz Lake to spend a little time with Mr. and Mrs. James Morrev. who left Mondav morning tor Florida for the w inter Mr and Mrs. Richard Seitz, ot Lusby. Marv land, arc here visiting his sisters. Mrs. Baine and Mrs. Amy Wardman. Miss Ihclma Helton, ot Terre Haute, and Florida, spent last week here with her brother. Clarence Reid and Mrs. Reid, at Koontz Lake. Mrs. Robert L rbm and Mrs. Wav ne Burch spent from Thursdav to Sundav in Lexington. Kentuckv. where thev visited with Miss Julie Ryan. Miss Rvan is a member of the University of Kentuckv volleyball team. The Lady Cats plaved the L nivcrsitv of Missouri on Fndav evening winning the first three games for a ”-3 record in

Lots of cider also went home with them and there should have benn lots of apple pies in Crown Point last week end. Mrs. Anna Allsop, of North Liberty. and Mr. Pat Solmos. of South Bend, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Solmos. Mr. and Mrs. John Newland left Mondav for Lake Placid. Florida, where they will be spending the winter months. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith and their daughter. Mrs. James Miller, were gone four days last week to Wilkes Barre. Pennsylvania, to visit Mr. and Mrs. Smith's daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. and Mrs. Richard Moon. A nice trip but it rained all the time they were there. I he annual Kelver reunion was held Sundav at the Tyner 1.0.0. F building with NO members present. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kelver. of Punta Gorda. Florida, came for the occasion. RECEIVES DEGREE Cvnthia Snvder. North Liberty, received her associate degree in science from Ball State University. Mori than 12(X) students completed their degree work this summer at Muncie. CHICKEN BAR B-QUE FRIDAY Ihe North Liberty High School \thletic Boosters are sponsoring a chicken bar-b-que on Fndav. October 12 in the high school cafeteria with serving from 4:30 to 7.00 p.m. Donations are 53.00 for a half of chicken and $2.50 for a quarter of a chicken. Carry-outs will be available.
