Mrs. Blanche Rensberger. from Santa Anna. California, came to visit Mrs. Eritz Skinner. On Thursday evening she and Mrs. Skinner. Mrs. Viola Barden. Mrs. Marv Hahn. Mrs. Herald Hostetler. Mrs. Helen Smith and daughter Donna Vitou. of South Bend, surprised Mrs. Skinner with a birthday dinner in South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Smith. Miss Ethel Bierly and her guests. Glades Gilfoy. attended the wedding ot James Herbst and lina Marie Dayton Saturday at 4:(X) p.m. in the Assembly of God Church. LaPorte. At 6:30 they attended another wedding in the St. Paul United Church of Christ. LaPorte. for Jay Allen Malstaff and Elizabeth Ann Alunbaugh. both of LaPorte. Mrs. Fayette Dunn returned home Monday night from a trip to the east with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rook, of Chicago. They were joined in the trip by nephews and their wives from Martinsburg. West Virginia and Smithsburg. West Virginia: another nephew and wife and Mrs. Eva Jones, from Washington. D.C.; a grandson and wife and her mother, from Charlotte. North Carolina. All went to Williamsburg. West Virginia to be together for a couple of days of fun and visitation. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Ricbe. of Kissimmee. Florida, were guests of Helen Bennett, in Grovertown. Mrs. Ricbe fell on the way up and had stitches taken in her head.

Susan M. Pulliam, daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pulliam. Route 3. Walkerton, and Jerold L. Cotton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cotton. Route 3. Walker ton. were united in marriage on Saturday. September 8. at 6:30 p.m. in the Koontz Lake United Missionary Church, with Rev. Lloyd George performing the candlelight ceremony. Nupital music was played by Mark Angland, of South Bend, and the soloist was Cindy Gardner. The bride chose a princess sty led gown featuring an empire waist line, lace bodice with a high neckline. She carried a bouquet of roses and stepphonautis. Ms. Violet Bullers was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Barbara Dunbar, sister of bride and Mrs. Jackie Little, sister of the bride, and Miss Kelly Shireman. The attendants were dressed in a rainbow arrangement while the maid of honor wore a yellow print gown as did the flower girl. Kimmy Smitt. Mitch Pearish served as best man. Groomsmen were Matt Cotton. brother of the groom. Mark Pulliam, brother of the bride, and John Cotton, brother of the groom. Ushers were Bill Dunbar and Mark Pulliam. Ring bearer was Jay Cotton. The mother of the bride was attired in a Grecian style long evening dress and the mother of the groom wore a medium green evening dress. A reception was held in the social rooms of the church following the ceremony. A wedding trip through Kentucky was taken. The couple is at home on Route 5. Walkerton. The bride is a graduate of Ore-gon-Davis High School and Ancilla College, Donaldson. The gr<x>m is a graduate of John Glenn High School. Paternal grandparents arc Mr. and Mrs. Robert Finn, of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. John Drews are the parents of a baby girl born on Monday. September 17, in the Osteopathic Hospital weighing seven pounds and 2‘ j ounces and is 19'/j inches long. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Fritter and Mr. Al Drews, of Plymouth. GLENN GIRLS WIN IN NSC VOLLEYBALL PLAY The John Glenn girls vollevball team won their first match in Northern State Conference action to even their conference mark at 1 • I w ith a w in at Culver on Tuesday evening. The varsity won 15-4 and 15-12. The best passer for the Glenn team was Patti Farrar with a 2.4 average, serving accuracv went to Traci Florian w ith 10 of 10. serve scoring leader was Deb Miller with a 3.5 average and Pam Aitken had b kills. This boosted the Glenn record to 4-3 overall as it was the varsity's fourth straight win. Culver was I 4 alter the loss. The junior varsity also won topping the Culver JVs 8-15, 15-13 and 15-8. This pulled their record to 3 wins and four losses while Culver’s slipped to I -4. They stayed with Mrs. Bennett until she was able to travel again. Pat, Anita and Tina Ricbe, visited their mother's people, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Dipert.
