Mr. and Mrs. Jim Curtis, of Hammond, were dinner guests of Mrs. Crystal Lawrenee on Wednesday of last week. Last Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Reed. Mrs. Everett Baker. of Walkerton; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Heim. Mr. and Mrs. Cceil Weber. Mrs. Ruth Bare, of North Liberty; Mrs. Ethel Hilligos and Mrs. Florence Wiese, of South Bend, spent the day at Donnell Lake. Vandalia. Michigan, with their brother-in-law. Mr. Robert Fagley. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Johnson and family, of Howell. Michigan, recently spent a week end here with his parents and attended the Johnson reunion which was held at Stunt/ Pine Forest. On Monday. August 20. they and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson went to Peru to spend the day with Mr. and Mrs. Wally Johnson. Mrs. Albert Huhnke has been in El Paso. Pennsylvania, spent the past week here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig and family. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hopkins, of Rockford. Texas, were here last week coming for the burial services of her mother. Mrs. Keith Baker. While they were here a family get together with a supper in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kennedy was given for the guests with other guests coming from South Bend. Mishawaka. LaPorte. Bremen, Indianapolis and Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Skinner were Sunday aftcrmxm visitors of Mrs. Ruth Bergstedt. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Eckhoff. of Mesa, Arizona, were Thursday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Morrey. In the afternoon Mrs. Morrey entertained two tables of bridge with Mrs. Eckhoff as a special guest with former friends and acquaintances present to visit with her. Because of the Labor Day week end there will be no carrv-in dinner

The prospective bridegroom is a 1977 graduate of John Glenn High School and is employed at Bremen Castings, Bremen. A March wedding is being planned. HOLD STICKLER REUNION The 49th Stickler reunion was held on Sunday, August lb at Story land Zcxx South Bend. There were 57 in attendance. The oldest present was Henry Rough. Sb and Corey Rough, two and a half months was the youngest and the son of Mr.'and Mrs. Paul Rough. Officers were re-elected as follows: Lloyd Barden, president; Floyd Dipert, vice-president; and Mrs. Maryin Reed, secretary-treas-urer. from Knox. Family members came from Knox. Goshen. South Bend. Plymouth. Elkhart. Fort Wayne and Walkerton. The next reunion will be held at the Floyd Dipert residence. Walkerton. and it will be the 50th reunion. COUNTY LINE CLUB MEETS The County Line Club met in the home of Mrs. Philip Waldron. Sr., on Monday evening. August 27. Assisting hostess was Mrs. Philip Waldron. Grovertown. Ind., recentlyparticipated in Global Shield ”9. an Air Force exercise conducted by the Strategic Air Command. Sergeant Singleton is an administrative specialist with a SAC unit at Grisson Air Force Base, here. Global Shield ”9, which involved bomber, tanker, missile and reconnaissance forces, and associated Air Force Reserve unites, was the largest and most comprehensive test of SAC forcer in more than 20 years.
