K.C. ACHIEVES STAR COUNCIL STATUS 4 j JI Walkerton K.C. Council #5709 was named winner of the Star Council Award for the 1978-1979 fraternal year. The award was issued by the K.C. Supreme office in New Haven. Connecticut. The Star Council award is a collective award based on the attainment of all requirments necessary to achieve a'l of the following: 1. The Columbian award: 2, the Father McGivney award; and 3. the Founder s award. These individual awards are given for attaining the requirements in service programs (church, community, council, family and youth), membership and insurance programs. There were 68 winners among 6580 eligible councils. Past Grand Knight Chuck Dobis (Grand Knight during the 1978-19 7 9 fraternal year) is shown with the award. — photo by Michael Pearish
