WLPJ Ambulance Regulations Are Changed Slightly The WLPJ Ambulance Board has stated some new regulations regarding their members. All members who have paid $25.(X) for a year’s membership will not be billed under any circumstances. The member and his entire household will be allowed to use the ambulance service for a year. In the past a member was billed along uith a statement that read: “If your insurance will cover anything over vour $25.00 membership please submit this bill to your insurance company. If you do no have the type of insurance that will cover this service disregard this bill entirely since you are a member of our Ambulance Service." This procedure will be eliminated because it was felt that this created some adverse feelings among the members. The Board will also be distributing Ambulance Cards for 1980. In the first year of operation the Board gave out cards but it was discontinued because it was felt that it was an unnecessary expense. However many members have requested to have the cards reinstatted. therefore the Board will once again distribute cards for memberships in 1980. tions. Aides fron\all shifts were present. Each hall has a team leader to whom all reports will be made. A member from each team is to remain at school. At the appointed time, all exit doors were opened and ambulatory patients came out first, then walkers, next those in wheelchairs and lumex chairs. The complete evacuation was accomplished in seven minutes. Attendance was taken at the school to ascertain that all resident were present. In a feu minutes (or until the fire was under control) the reverse started. Everyone was returned to his or her room and attendance was checked again. The Walkerton Ambulance Corps cooperated and helped with the one patient who cannot use a wheel chair. The fire department held up traffic into Walkerton Trail along uith the Police Department, while our traffic was still on the road. This trial proved very satisfactory to RN Beth Carter, our In-Service Nurse. Two of the nurses emerging from the building were pushing carts which carried the medical records of the residents.
