Dorothea Brenner, Koontz Lake, entertained her pinochle club on Tuesday, July 31. Mr. and Mrs. James Capek, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fitzgerald, Mr. and Mrs. John Wolff and Mrs. Raymond Wolff joined a large group of relatives at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ariis Eads, in Plymouth, on Sunday for a pot luck dinner at noon in honor of Mrs. Vernon (Martha) Bender, of Van Vlcck, Texas, who is visiting in the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary Gardner and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wynn entertained on Sunday with a cook out dinner. Their guests were Mr. William Bellinger, of North Manchester, Mr. and Mrs. William Day, of Glenview, Illinos, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wynn, of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bellinger and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bellinger, of Walkerton. Mrs. Ann Labno. Koontz Lake, had a surprise party for her birthday at the old Koontz Lake house on July 29. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Chapman, Mrs. Bess Ferverda and Mrs. Ed Keeling were in Plymouth Sunday afternoon to attend the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and MrS. Wayne McCann. Mrs. Eileen Clark’s birthday was celebrated Sunday evening with a cook opt supper at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huhnke. Other guests were her daughter, Veronic, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Baker and family, Bob Relos, and Linda and Cindy Huhnke. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Gordon will be hosting the Conservation Club dinner this Saturday evening at the club house. Mr. and Mrs. Herald Hostetler returned Saturday from an eleven dav trip which included a visit with
their son, Herald 111, at Yosemite Park, in California. On the wav there and back they made many stops to sec places of interest in national parks, Royal Gorge, etc. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Eckstein came home last week from a tour for Senior Citizens. They started from LaPorte to Lansing, Illinois, where they met a large group and the bus. From there they went through Wisconsin. One of the highlights of the trip was a fish boil which they didn't think they would like, but found it to be very tasty. They toured the country around the edge of Lake Superior and enjoyed the trip very much. Mrs. Faye Jones spent last week in Elkhart visiting her son, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jones and family. The choir members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Donaldson and their families, held a picnic at the home of Albert and Dorothea Brenner on August 4. Because of the bad w eather instead of playing games on the outside, lots of singing was done on the inside. Mrs. Ida Schaunaman, of Fort Lauderdale, is here for several weeks stay visiting her son and family and other friends in the Walkerton area. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert, were in Hartsville, Ohio a few days last week to visit Mr. and Mrs. John Mohler, who spent their winters near the Kerchaerts in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brown attended the Notre Dame graduation exercises at the Convocation Center in South Bend last Friday to see their daughter. Linda, receive her M.S. Degree in administration. Mr. and Mrs. Larry McDaniel and daughter, of Carmel. Indiana, were Saturday and Sunday guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Solmos. Other Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. David Solmos and family, of Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Brehm came Saturday for a week end stay with his sister, Mrs. Dorothy Huneryager. at Koontz. Lake. While here they were calling on other friends at the lake and in Walkerton. On Monday they and Mrs. Huneryager went to Irish Lake to visit another sister and for a family get together. Week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brown were their granddaughters. Jeannie Zerbie, and her family, of Lima. Ohio and Vickie Gixxlwin and family, of Bradenton. Florida. On Sundayother guests were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Berg and daughter, Lynne, and Mr. and Mrs. Jed Berg and daughters, of Hamlet; Linda and Meri Brown, of South Bend; Linda Betz, of South Bend; and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Schultz and familv, of Hanna. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burke, and two sons Gavin and Steve, of Pleasant Hill, California. are here for several weeks visit with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Cecrle.
