Mrs. Adie Rees, of Jason Beach, Florida; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ferguson, of Pharr, Texas; Miss Lisa Brown, of South Bend; and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Berg, of Hamlet. Mrs. June Leslie, of Georgetown, Texas, came last week and will be spending several weeks with Mrs. Garland Lawrence, who was released from Memorial Hospital last week. LaPorte Hospital patients dismissed are Mr. Allen Seaholm, Mrs. George Myers, Rev. Ralph Jones. Mrs. Burnedette Davis still remains in the hospital. Mrs. Bernice Lichtenbarger and Mrs. Esther Kaufman were 4th of July guests of Mrs. Rachael Barthel. in LaPorte. They also went to the parade in the morning in LaPorte. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Brenner and daughter, Marcia, of Evanston, Illinois, visited Don’s father, Bill Brenner, last week end. They were dinner guests of Al and Dorothea Brenner, Koontz Lake, on Saturday evening and dinner guests of Mrs. Violet Drake on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wade Stillson have returned to their home in Clearwater. Florida, after spending two weeks here visiting Mrs. Georgia Stillson as well as Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stillson. Cassopolis, Michigan; Mrs. Stillson’s parents and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brugh and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Brugh, of South Bend, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stillson and Mr. and Mrs. Vance Frederick, Nappanee, and other friends and relatives in the area. The 57th annual Heim reunion was held on Sunday, July 8, at Potawatomi Park, South Bend. There were 93 present. The oldest member was Mrs. Ruth Bare, of North Liberty, and the youngest was Jennifer Reed, of Bremen. Relatives attending from Walkerton included Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Reed, Mr. and Mrs. James Reed, Craig Reed and son, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Baker and Paul and Mrs. Everett Baker. A surprise luncheon was held at one o'clock on Tuesday, July 10, for Mrs. Fayette Dunn, by Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert. Guests were Mrs. Manford Bouse, Mrs. R. N. LaFeber, Mrs. Walter LaFeber, of Ithica, New York, Mrs. Esther Schultz, Mrs. Lucile Ward, Mrs. Ida Mae Watkins and Mrs. Gwin Benett and daughter, Latricia, of Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Gaude Houser was dismissed from Memroial Hospital, South Bend, on Monday and transferred to Healthwin, South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Gwin Benett and daughter, Latricia, of Memphis, Tennessee, are here for a two week visit with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert. Mrs. Benett is a granddaughter of Mrs. Kerchaert. ENJOY RIVER TOUR Mrs. Doris Z. Malstaff and Miss Ethel Bierly left Plymouth on Sunday, June 24, on a Northern Indiana bus for Peoria. staying there at a Holiday Inn. On Monday morning they boarded the boat, Julia Bell Swain, for Starved Rock on the Illinois River stopping for a picnic dinner at Henry Park. At Starved Rock Lodge a native Indian gave an interesting talk about their life. The next morning. Tuesday, at noon, they were back on the boat to go to Peoria to meet the bus and start for home. A very enjoyable trip.
