On Friday. June 29. Miss Ethel Bierly went to Wabash to visit with a friend. Miss Eunice Wiles. On Saturday afternoon she attended a reunion of girl friends she knew when working at the White Institute at the home of Miss Mary McVicker. There were nine present coming from Anderson. Marion, LaFontaine. Wabash and Walkerton. They all talked on the phone to the one who lives in New Mexico. All signed a card for one in Marion who is ill. Miss Bierly returned home Saturday evening. Mrs. Eugene Congdon, of Wilmette. Illinois, sister of Mrs. Robert Bowman, was a guest in the

Bowman home last week. A family reunion was held on Wednesday. July 4, at Koontz Lake for the families of Mrs. Mildred Casey and her sister and husband, Dr, and Mrs. Monroe Schuster. Those present were Dr. Kenneth Casey, of Cleveland, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Casey and their four children, of Adrian. Michigan; Mr. M. Gary Schuster and Mr. and Mrs. John Schuster and their three children, of Anderson. A picnic dinner was enioved on the patio at the Schuster’s Placid Haven followed by a family sing. Fourth of July guests in the Indiana Street apartment of Mrs.
Clarence Fields, Sr., were Mr. and Mrs. Maurin A. Whitaker and son, Doug and Mark, of Hammond; Barbara Carey and son, Mike; Joyce Koomler and friend, of LaPorte; and Deborah Northam. Theresa and Brandon, of Walkerton. On Saturday Mrs. Fields son, Roger, of Crown Point, stopped for a brief visit after a fishing trip to Minnesota. Fourth of July visitors at the homes of Noriene Peterson, Andy and Rhody and Peter Peterson were Phil and Linda Thomas and girls. Chris and Theresa, from Fort Shawnee, Ohio, and Watty Thomas, of Lima, Ohio. They all enjoyed the morning at the park. In the afternoon there was a cook out at the home of Andy Peterson. Guests were Phil, Linda, Chris, Theresa and Watty Thomas, of Ohio; Norienne Peterson, Walkerton; Karen and Art Krol and boys, Alan and Greg and Ruth and Townse Clayton
and Laura and Danny, of South Bend. The Clark family reunion was held on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clark with 92 present for the day. Mr. and Mrs. John Solmos and their guests Mr. and Mrs. Burgoone Carnes, of Raleigh, North Carolina, spent Saturday at Carmel, Indiana, with Mr. and Mrs. Larry McDaniel and daughter and in Indianapolis with Mr. and Mrs. David Solmos and family. A family picnic was held at the home of Mrs. Frank Hahn on July 4th and the following group of people attended: Mrs. Jamie Bonee and family, of Ripley, Mississippi; Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn and family, of Knox; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hahn and family, of Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Malstaff, of LaPorte; Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn and family, Mrs. Regina Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Williams and son, Mr. and Mrs. John Stepro and son, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Malstaff and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Malstaff and daughter, al! of Walkerton. A Fourth of July picnic was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Clark and family with the following named guests. Mr. and Mrs. Warner Clark. Mrs. Nellie Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Stull and family, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Stull and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Shields and family, Carol Blackburn and friend Bruce Foster, all of Walkerton; Mrs. Ann Zumbaugh and daughter, of Plymouth; and Mrs. Vada Stull, of Walkerton. On Tuesday of this week Mrs. Bertha Urbin and other relatives from South Bend, Syracuse, Ligonier, Benton, Wawaka and Kewanna, went to Monticello to spend the day with Mrs. Urbin’s brother, Mr. G. E. Metzger. Mrs. Mary Stifer, of West Palm Beach. Florida, spent a week here visiting Mrs. Ellen Brede, at Koontz Lake. A nephew, Mr. Louis Wilkins, of Chicago, is here visiting Mrs. Brede for two weeks. This week’s hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation club dinner will be Mr. and Mrs. William Erzig. A

nice place for members and their guests to spend a few hours on Saturday eveing. Mrs. A. J. Kennedy was in Indianapolis from Tuesday until Saturday visiting her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sullivan. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan brought her home Saturday and remained over the week end in Walkerton. During the past two weeks Mr. and Mrs. Michael Butler have had the following guests: Miss Teri Wiggans, of Greensborough, North Carolina; and Miss Christi Wiggans, of Richmond, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Butler and baby daughter are new residents of Walkerton and they live in the former A. G. Hunt property on Illinois Street. Mrs. Myra Beadles and son, Brandon, of Commerce, Texas, were house guests of Jayda Cripe and family during the week of July 4th. The Beadles were former neighbors of the Cripes while they lived in Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wright and daughter, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, spent most of the past week here with his mother, Mrs. Rhea Wright. Mrs. V. B. Wolfe, of Sebring, Florida, and Mrs. Ted Wolfe, of Park Forest, Illinois, were here a couple days last week visiting Mrs. Glen Walz and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Walter LaFeber and family, of Ithaca, New York, left Tuesday after spending a week with his mother, Mrs. Ralph LaFeber. For more than two weeks Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lute have been enjoying the presence of their family again as Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lute and family, of Anchorage, Alaska, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Lute, of Alburquerque, New Mexico, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Groszek and son, of St. Louis, Missouri, have been here. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Steinke, Mr. Carl Steinke and Mrs. Gladys Prentis entertained the boys’ mother, Mrs. Martha Mull, Sunday with a birthday dinner at Schori’s in Plymouth.
