Whitmer. of North Liberty, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at their home Sunday. They have a son and a foster daughter. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Whitmer, Jeffrey and Susie, of Wabash; Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Garwood. Brian. David. Michael and Diane, of LaPorte; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Halter, of Rolling Prairie; and Mrs. Whitmer's sister.

Mrs. Hattie Dowley, of LaPorte. The Whitmers were married on June 29, 1929, in the home of the bride at Tracy, Indiana, in LaPorte County. Mrs. Whitmer was the former Henrietta Martensen. Due to Mr. Whitmer’s serious illness they were unable to have open house, but plan to in about two months. NOTICE The Walkerton American Legion Auxiliary will meet on Thursday, July 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the post home for their regular monthly meeting.
