NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF PROPOSED ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS Notice is hereby given the taxpayers of the Town of Walkerton. St. Joseph County. Indiana, that the proper legal officers of said municipal corporation at their regular meeting place at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 2. 1979 will consider the following additional appropriation in excess of the Budget for the Current Year: Motor Vehicle Highway Special Distribution Materials $3,807.93 TOTAL $3,807.93 Taxpayers appearing at such meeting shall have a right to be heard thereon. The additional appropriation as finally made will be referred to the State Baord of Tax Commissioners which board upon receipt, will hold a further hearing within fifteen days at the County Auditor’s Office of said County, or at such other place as may be designated. At such hearing taxpayers objecting to any of such additional appropriations may be heard. Interested taxpayers may inquire of the County Auditor when and where such hearing will be held. OF WALKERTON, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA, TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE PLANING. ERECTION. REMODELING AND EXTENSION OR REPAIRING OF A SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT AND SEWER TO CONVEY SANITARY SEWAGE TO SUCH PLANT OR FOR EXTENSION OF SAME AND FOR RELIEF OF SEWERS AND DRAINS IN AID OF THE SANITARY SYSTEM OR STORM SEWERS OR DRAINS OR FOR ANY OF THE ENUMERATED PERPOSES. Be it resolved that there be established a Cumulative Building and Sinking Fund in the Town of Walkerton. St. Joseph County, Indiana, to provide funds for the planning, erection, remodeling and extension or repairing of a sewage disposal plant or sewers to convey sanitary sewage to such plant or for the construction of storm sewers and the remodeling, repairing or extension of same, and for relief sewers, drains and dry wells in aid of said sanitary system or storm sewers or for any or all of the above enumerated municipal undertakings. Be it further resolved that upon final passage after public hearing that there shall be levied and assessed .50 cents on each SIOO.OO of taxable property in the Town of Walkerton, the first levy to be in 1979 payable in 1980 and annually thereafter, for a total of 7 years, unless sooner terminated, extended. decreased or enlarged. Notice is hereby ordered published that the Walkerton Town Board will hold a public meeting to further consider said proposal at the regular meeting place on July 2. 1979 at 8 o'clock. If finally approved at the public meeting to be held on the 2nd day of July, 1979, the proposal will be referred to the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners for public hearing following due public notice.

Flag and Pom Pom students to camp. They are having a bake sale, with Ann Krick as chairman, at the Farmers State Bank of WyattWalkerton lobby from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. And a car wash, with Barbara Barden and Shirley Zartman as co-chairmen, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jim's Standard Service, Roosevelt Road, Walkerton.
The students from the Corps will be doing the washing and cleaning of the cars. If all goes well you might even be serenaded by some of the John Glenn band students who will be playing on the downtown streets under the direction of Donna Klopfenstein. Lorraine Hostetler, 586-2089 and Maryin Hochstetler, 586-2623, are over all co-chairmen for these two fund raisers. So if you have any questions feel free to call either one. The P-L-J Band Boosters are also selling Alumaline Cutlery knives and knife sets. Carol Deisch, 5862030 is chairman of this project. She has most knives on hand at all times or can get them shortly.
