Marilynn Quick New Elementary Principal At 0-D The Oregon-Davis School Corporation has announced the appointment of Marilynn Quick as the elementary principal for the 197980 school year. Mrs. Quick is currently serving as the Title 1 reading teacher, the Right-to-Read coordinator and Project Home Base director. She has been under contract with Oregon-Davis Schools since January. 1974. Previously. Mrs. Quick taught two years of kindergarten and first grade in Red Rock Schools. Arizona. Mrs. Quick was salutatorian of Knox High School's class of 1963. Butler University awarded her a scholarship in music and she attended Butler until 1965. As an

Air Force officer's wife. Marilynn and her family were stationed in California, Arizona and Alabama. In 1969, she graduated with highest honors from the University of Arizona and was granted a B.A. in elementary education. An M.Ed. followed in 1973 in reading. Currently Mrs. Quick is pursing a doctorate from Indiana University with major areas in reading and school administration. Larry L. Quick. Marilynn's husband. is a manager with Cook United operating out of stores in South Bend, Elkhart. Peru and Carpentersville. Illinois. The Quicks have three sons who attend the O D Schools: David. 14; Brad. 12 and Brian. 6. Professional organizations to which Marilynn is affiliated include the International Reading Association. Mu Phi Epsilon (a music honorary), and Phi Kappa Phi (an academic honorary). A special honor was her selection in 1977 by Dr. Negley as one of the five Indiana chairpersons to aid in the selection of reading textbooks for the Indiana textbook adoption process. Mrs. Quick chaired a committee of educators from northwestern Indiana for Dr. Negley. APPOINTED TO CONSUL OF FINLAND Cami E. Gonas, of Coral Gables, Florida, has been appointed Consul of Finland in Miami, Florida by the Finnish Government. Consul Gonas is married to a Coral Gables International lawver, Roy B. Gonas. son of Judge and Mrs. John S. Gonas. of South Bend. She has a Bachelor of Law of the University of Helsinki School of Law , is a member of the Finnish

Lawyers' Association, and also holds a Master's degree in Comparative Law from the University of Miami (Florida) School of Law. She studied further at the University of Geneva. Switzerland and The Hague Academy of International Law. Netherlands. Her husband, Roy B. Gonas, also studied at The Hague Academy of International Law at that time. They are the parents of two minor sons. The new consular office is located at 224 Catalonia Avenue in Coral Gables, Florida, where Consul Gonas also maintains her business office, Finnport, Inc., which imports gold and sterling jewelry and tableware from Finland. Judge Gonas' oldest son, John S. Gonas. Jr., is also a practicing attorney, and he and his wife are parents of three minor children. Judge Gonas is former Chief Justice of Indiana Appellate Court.
