V.B.S. Features Puppets Grover And Ralph Methodism in the North Liberty area, now in its 147th year, continues a long-observed tradition of Vacation Bible School at the North Liberty United Methodist Church. Five exciting days of Christian education. recreation, fun. and mission saturation will occupy the children of the area who are invited and urged to attend. Sessions will be conducted from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. each day, Monday through Friday, June 11 through June 15. An open house for parents and public will be enjoyed on Friday evening. June 15 at 7 : 00 p.m. A program in the sanctuary featuring the youngsters will be followed by an open house tour of the rooms used by the children and a showing of the articles and projects reflecting their efforts. Returning for a third consecutive year by popular demand are the characters who have proved such a hit with the children and adults alike, “Grover” and “Ralph”. These loveable puppets get each day off with a welcome laugh for the group and then lead into the mission theme for the week. The theme this year is “I’m His — He’s Mine”. Julie Knepp is Vacation Bible School coordinator and will be assisted by Jennie Hcemer. Each child's packet for Vacation Bible School will contain an iron-on patch this year. Parents of children coming to the 5-day session are asked to obtain T-shirts suitable for the patches. They must be made of 50% polyester and 50% cotton. There will be outdoor recreation each day and refreshments served daily. Again this year. Camp Ray Bird in Lydick, will be the recipient of the special mission offering.

June 11-15 At United Methodist The United Methodist Church of Walkerton will hold its Vacation Bible School from June 11-15, Pre-school through fifth grade will meet from 9:00 to 11:30 a m. daily studying the theme, “Jesus. I'm His — He's Mine". The youth class, grades six through eight, will be meeting at the church in the evening from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. with the topic, “It's Great To Relate". Pre-sch<x>l through fifth grade will be competing in a contest called. "Bring Them To Jesus", by receiving points for daily attendance. bringing a friend, bringing his Bible and learning his daily memory verse. TEEN BIBLE TIME At the North Liberty Church of Christ June 10 • 14, from 6:45 - 9:15 p.m. each night. Casses will be
taught in two divisions, seventh grade to ninth grade by Joanne Knowlton and tenth grade to college bv Brother Charles J. Richmond. Each night there will be a guest speaker. There will be a Bible Study, singing around a camp fire in the woods and a time for refreshments. On the last evening a hot dog roast is planned. This program is for all teens in the area and we are interested in all of them. We feel that a group of kids that pray together, stay together. Please feel free to join us. Also, wear clothing suitable for the outdoors, bring your blanket to sit on, insect repellent, paper and pencil, and above all your Bible. Carl Kaser Completes Course At LU. Carl 11. Kaser, of North Liberty, Indiana, has successfully completed Course 111 of the educational program offered by the Certified Auctioneers Education Institute at Indiana University in Bloomington. Indiana. The educational program, offered in cooperation with the National Auctioneers Association and the Indiana University School of Continuing Studies, is a threeyear course of study which leads to the CAI (Certified, Auctioneers Institute) designation. The designations are awarded annually during the NAA Convention to candidates who successfully complete the full Institute program and pass examinations at the end of the first, second and third year courses, allowing them to qualify as members of the Institute. The Institute program is designed to educate and train practicing auctioneers in ways to improve their performances in the auction business. Included are courses in finance, legal aspects of auctioneering, appraisal, real estate, personal business development, communications and advertising. The faculty includes Indiana University faculty members and nationally recognized auctioneers. Walkerton, formerly of Hamlet, died at 12 midnight, Friday, at the nursing home following an illness of several years. She was born on June 23. 1878 in Hamlet and came back to the area five years ago from Los Angeles, California. She was a member of the Evening Star Rebekah Lodge, Walkerton. Surviving is a daughter, Gladys Laramore; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services were at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Fletcher Cemetery.
