BENJAMIN EVERETT BAKER Benjamin Everett Baker. 72, of 'OS Jackson Street. Walkerton, passed away at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday at the LaPorte Hospital follow ing a brief illness. He was born on lune I. 1906, in Walkerton and lived here all his life. On December 27, 1928, he married Vylet Heim, in South Bend, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dennis E.. of Bremen, and Douglas 1... of Walkerton; five grandchildren; two sisters. Mrs. Helen Kennedy and Mrs. Jennie Gillette, both >t Walkerton; two brothers. Marvin Baker, of Walkerton, and Nathan i Steve) Baker, of Hemet. California. He w as employed for 30 vears for Walkerton Drug Stores and retired as a shipping clerk from the Bornemann Products Co.. He was a truck driver for 20 years and had worked for Spector Freight Lines, South Bend. Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Caroline Crum, Koontz Lake and Mrs. Diana Lobosky, Paili. Indiana; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Milner and Mrs. Mary Klinedinst. both of South Bend; and a brother, Raymond Clevenger, of Koontz Lake. Phillips. 19. of Rural Route 2, Walkerton, were found in a parked auto in a pine grove at ’OON. east of State Road 23. at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Starke County Coroner James O ’Donald said the couple apparently died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Surviving along with her parents are three sisters, Mrs. Sharon Diangikis, LaPaz; Mrs ( hristine Burger. Hamlet; and Linda Kling er. at home; two brothers. Alfred. Jr.; and Patrick, both at home; her paternal grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Klinger. East Detroit, Michigan; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Wallace Rhlgim, of Hobart. GEROGE G. Walkerton, were found in an auto parked in a pine grove at ”00N east of State Road 23 at 5:00 p.m. Sundav. They died of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning according to the Starke County Coroner. He was born on April 12, 1960, in LaPorte, to Mr. and Mrs. George Phillips. He was a mid-term graduate of Oregon-Davis High School. Class of 1979. He was an employee of American Door Co., Walkerton. Surviving along with his parents area sister. Pattv Lynn, at home; a brother. Jeff, at home; a step sister. Mrs. Dinah Frazier. Walk erton; three step brothers. Clayton Minix, Wheeling, Illinois; Doyle Minix, Muncie; and Terry Minix, at home; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Gussie Phillips. Tennessee; and his maternal grandmother. Mrs. Florence Boshers, Jacksboro, Tennessee. The only woman who was wife of one president and mother of another was Abigail Smith Adams.
