On Sunday Mrs. Johnson entertained the following guests for dinner. Mrs. Stahls, Mrs. Batten and son Cade. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cripe. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Skies and family. of South Bend, and Mr. and Mrs. Ward Ass aid. of Walkerton. On Tuesday of last week Mrs. Charles Shogren. of Koontz Lake, entertained 11 ladies at a one o'clock luncheon in her home with Mrs. Archie Brehm being the honored guest. Mr. and Mrs. Brehm have sold their home at Koontz Lake and will be moving to Round Lake. Illinois, the last of this month. After the delicious luncheon the afternoon was spent playing bridge. The guests were Mrs. Brehm. Mrs. Russell Smith. Mrs. Harrs Smith. Mrs. Richard Dipert, Mrs. William Dickson and Miss Dorothea Brenner, all of Koontz Lake; Mrs. Newton Williams and Mrs. Bertha Urbin, of Walkerton. The ladies presented Mrs. Brehm with a beautiful piece of luggage, wishing her happiness in her new home and telling her how much she is going to be missed in the community. and she has been such a willing worker in the local Catholic Church of which she is a member. Florida, where she had spent the w inter months. Mrs. J. C. Milner was a house guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Holt, of Winamac, from I uesday until Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Baker attended the wedding of their granddaughter. Miss Tammy Baker, of Bremen. Saturday afternoon. The bridegroom was Kent Paulson, of Lake of the Woods. Bremen. The wedding was in the First United Church of Christ in Bremen, with a reception following in the church parlors. Other relatives from Walkerton and North Liberty were also present. The groom is an employee of Martin Chevrolet, in Bremen, and the bride was an employee of Coppes Kitchens. Inc., in Nappanee. Another reception was served in the evening in the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Baker. Mrs. Robert Bowman. Mrs. Basil Curl. Mrs Leonard Beaty and Miss Ethel Bierly attended a county meeting for the Federation of Women's Clubs last Thursday. Derk Mcllema. honored the visitors w ho are here for three weeks from the Netherlands. Mrs. Fayette Dunn returned home Saturday from a month visit in Florida. She visited w ith her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Dunnuck. of South Bend, in Winter Haven. Fla. She also was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert. at Lake Placid, for three days. Mr. Allen Koontz and Miss Leia Koontz. of Hammond, have been in Walkerton visiting their grandmother. Mrs. Victoria McCann, of the 7b Apartments. They left on Tuesday taking Mrs. McCann back to Hammond with them for Easter. Mr. and Mrs. Rov Freeman entertained at a family dinner in their home on Sunday. Those present were Mrs. Hazel Hoover. Teegarden; Mr. and Mrs. Rick Lichtenbarger. Koontz Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Braner. South Bend; and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Freeman and Lori, rural North Liberty. Pop plenty of popcorn (we’ve used the |x>p in its own pan, Jiffy Pop Popcorn), then make a corn syrup to coal and hold the popcorn together for mold ing Perhaps you have a lamb cake mold, if so, pack the coated corn in it, if not, let the creative spirit take over for sculpting this happy little fellow. 1/2 cup (120 mL) water 1-2 tablespoons (15 mL or 30 mL) butter or margarine gumdrops Prepare popcorn according to package directions. Save out 2 cups of popcorn for eating, pour remainder into large bowl or pan. Heat sugar, corn syrup and water in saucepan to 250°F (121° C) or until a drop of syrup in cold water forms a hard ball. Save a little syrup for attaching decorations; pour remaining syrup over popcorn and mix throughly with two large spoons. Coated popcorn is now ready to be formed into lamb. Coat hands with butter, and working quickly pack coated popcorn into lamb mold or mold lamb free-handedly. Decorate with gumdrops; surround with flowers or colored eggs. and is in the top five percent of her class. LAW DAY SEMINAR SET AS Law Day Seminar will be held at St. Mary's College on Saturday.
