Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Bobbe, of Kontz Lake have returned from a month long visit in Hawaii, where they spent two weeks in Wakiki. one week on Maui, and one week on Kauai, getting lots of sunshine and beach time. While in Kauai, they were entertained by the family of Glen Hinazumi, w ho was a classmate of their son. Kenneth, at Purdue. On Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Frazier took Mr. and Mrs. William DePoy to Shactz.le's Restaurant, in Bourbon, to celebrate Mrs. Fraziers and Mr. DePoy's birthdays to Bill's surprise. His brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Jake DePoy. of Bourbon. Mr. and Mrs. Harry DePoy. of Winamac and Mr. and Mrs. George DePoy. of Culver and his sister, Mrs. Maude Emmons. of Marcellus. Michigan, were there to greet him. Mr. and Mrs. John Guttman came home Tuesday evening of last week from a two month stay in Florida. One month was spent in Sarasota and the other month was at Coral Gables and other places. While there they visited and called on former friends from the LaPorte and Walkerton area. Last week on Wednesday Miss Ethel Bierly attended the Starke County Retired Teachers meeting held in the Schricker museum in Knox, Indiana. Mrs. Don Myers gave the program and it was pictures of their trip to China last May. Miss Bierly said the pictures gave a different look at China than what we generally see, and was very interesting. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Moravek will be hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner Saturday evening with the social hour following. Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Jacob and Jeff were in Fort Wayne Sunday as guests of their daughter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Wentworth. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Beagles entertained at Sunday dinner for their son Scott’s birthday. Other guests were their son Tim, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hellinga, of Middlebury. and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside were her sister. Mrs. Edith Baumgartner, of Milford, and her brother, Mr. William Phebus, of South Bend. The follow ing people are hospital patients, Mrs. Harry Holland and Mr. John Arnett, both in the LaPorte Hospital; and Mr. Harry Masterman and Mr. Robert Winstead, both in the Osteopathic Hospital. Bruce, Brian and Julie Mercer are spending the spring school holidays with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Baker and Paul, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Baker and family, in Bremen. In the afternoon the ladies attended a bridal shower given for Miss Tami Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bker whose wedding will be in April. Mr. and Mrs. Branson Hiatt returned from a two week vacation visiting with their daughter. Mr. and Mrs. John Turner and new granddaughter. Diana Leigh, in Laura). Maryland. They also visited their son. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hiatt, in Henderson. North Carolina. Mrs. Fred Schultz, Chesterfield, Missouri, is visiting here due to the illness of her father. Harry Masterman. who is in the Osteopathic Hospital. South Bend. Miss Ethel Bierly entertained the members of her birthday club in her home Monday afternoon with six members present and coming from Mill Creek. Rolling Prairie, North Liberty, LaPorte and Walkerton. There were four prizes given for bunco which provided the entertainment for the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. James Capek. Jr., came back from a vacation spent at Fort Myers Beach, Florida, on Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lowry entertained Friday evening with a dinner for their euchre club. Those
