Glenn Athletes Honored For Winter Sports The John Glenn High School annual winter sports awards banquet was held on Thursday evening. March 15, at the school with trophies and other awards being presented. In gymnastics Kathy Rohrer received a four year trophy and captain star; Marina Kickbush, most improved and the mental attitude award and Julie Bell, three year pin and jacket. Gina Newland was named the most valuable gymnast. In girls’ basketball Mary Huffstetter a trophy for best free throw percentage; Traci Florian, most assists and broke record with a 44.9 field goal average; Barb Mann, most valuable player and most rebounds award and Deb Miller, the defensive trophy. In wrestling Mike Shenenberger received the most valuable wrestler trophy, most pins, three year pin and captain star; Rod Lowry, mental attitude award, letter, and numbers; and Kerry Lichenbargcr, most improved wrestler and he also received a varsity certificate. Boys’ basketball awards were presented to Tom Moore, most valuable player, most assists and two year pin; Bob Muncie, most rebounds, best field goal percentage. varsity certificate and jacket; Rob Moore, varsity certificate and jacket; Craig Ochs, mental attitude award, two year pin and the junior varsity certificate went to Brad Kaser.
