Randy Verkier was the honored guest at a birthday dinner at the Holiday Inn in Plymouth, on Friday. March 2. Guests included Mrs. Randy Verkier, Scott Vcrkler, Miss Chris Jones, of North Liberty, and Mrs. Roberta Smith, of Donaldson. Word has been received of the passing of Gladys Linton Shrader, mother of Mrs. Bryce Rohrer, who was found dead at her Bloomington. Indiana, home on Sunday evening. Mrs. Rohrer's father. Carl E. Shrader, died on February 18.1979. Rev. and Mrs. Robert C. Bowman just returned from an eight day visit with their four grandchildren in Appleton, Wisconsin. Their daughter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Holtz, were vacationing at the time. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Harold Weller were in LaPortc to visit their daughter and her family. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Groves, and on Sunday they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harris and family, in Elkhart. The following group of Ball State students have been home enjoying their spring break from classes. They are Herold Hostetler. Bob Cole, Donna Moore, Patty Reese. Liz Krick and Joni Germain. They left Monday for classes to resume Tuesday. Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Viola Barden were Mr. and Mrs.

Larry Barden and son. of Muskegon. Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Danny Barden and daughter, of Tyner; Mrs. Wayne Rough and children, of Walkerton; and Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Skinner. Mr. and Mrs. Pat McNorton and two daughters, of Hanover. Illinois, were Sunday guests of her parents. Mr. and Mrs Herold Hostetler. Mr. and Mrs. David Hostetler and daughter were also guests. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hostetter were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hostetter and family, at Lake of the Four Seasons, a subdivision of Crown Point. This was a birthday celebration for their grandson Steve Hostetter, who was 17 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kuklinski, of Koontz Lake, went to Grand Rapids over the week end to visit their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ferris. They also visited another daughter in a hospital in Grand Rapids. They stopped Saturday night to visit Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Norton, in Osteogo, and started home Sunday noon, but due to fog and high water on the roads it was a long wearisome trip. Mrs. Fayette Dunn came home last week from a two month stay in Rockville, Maryland, which is a suburb of Washington, D.C. While there she stayed with her sister. Mrs. Eva Jones. winter. She saw the group of farmers that came to Washington on tractors and said there was entertainment of all kinds in the locality that they enjoyed very much. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Shinn came home Thursday from a two month stay in Florida. In January they were in Punta Gorda and in February they spent the month at Sebring. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knowlton came home Tuesday of last week from a three week vacation in Florida. At Lake Placid they visited Mr. and Mrs. Dean Knowlton, Mrs. Arthur DeMyer and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Ross, of Lakeville, who are spending the winter there. Phey also took a trip to the Florida Keys. At Punta Gorda they visited Mrs. Knowlton’s brother. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kelver. Mrs. Mildren Williams, of Plymouth, had been visiting the Kelvers at Punta Gorda and returned home with them. Mrs. Ted Wolfe, of Park Forest, Illinois, was a guest of Mrs. Glen Walz from Tuesday to Saturday when Mr. Wolfe came to take her home. Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Jacob came home Sunday evening from a two week vacation in Florida. They visited Mr. Jacob's father, Mr. Lloyd Jacob, at Bradenton, most of the time but took a day to visit Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kerchaert at Lake Placid. They found everyone enjoying the winter in Florida and busy. On Tuesday evening of last week Mrs. Helen Smith, of Koontz Lake, entertained in her home beginning with a delicious dinner at six o'clock. After the dinner the evening was spent visiting and playing bridge with prizes for all. The guests were Mrs. Crystal Lawrence. Mrs. John Schamer and Miss Dorothea Brenner and Mrs. Vee Shogran, all of Koontz Lake; Mrs. Garland Lawrence. Mrs. Ber tha Urbin and Mrs. George Ferverda, of Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Sherland and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Gale Sherland went to LaPortc Saturday evening for a birthday dinner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Bierderstadt and family. I his was celebrating Gale Sherland’s birthday, which fall on February 29. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dipert will serve as hosts for the Koontz Lake Conservation Club dinner Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kemp came home Sunday after spending the winter months in Lake Wales, Florida. Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lindsley were Mrs. Arthur Wooley, of Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vandola, of Bremen; and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lindsley, of Niles, Michigan. Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Urbin were called to Kewanna on Monday evening due to the death of a brother-in-law and uncle. Mr. T. C. Urbin. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Braner, of South Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Rick Lichtcnbarger, of Koontz Lake; and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Freeman and Lori, of North Liberty, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Freeman. Mrs. Charles Bandendistel accompanied her son, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bandendistel of Fish Lake, to Mishawaka on Sunday for a birthday celebration in the home of Harry and Alice Duffey. The occasion was in honor of Harry's birthday and Alice served lovely cake and a nice dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Nifong and son. Ross and wife, of Plymouth, were Saturday visitors of Mrs. J. C. Milner. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gerber enterained at a birthday dinner Sunday for their sons. Robert and Charles, who w ill be 21 years old on March 10. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Gerhart and Laden and Miss Vicki Wallace.
